The upcoming Xbox One update may finally be delivering something that has been wanted since release date; external hard drive support.

If true, i have a 2TB HDD just waiting to be perma-attatched to my One. It will be interesting to see the reaction/popularity if true.

I'm quite uninterested by this leak, maybe they'll leak some games next time.

I wish someone made a console that you could just swap out the internal hard drive. Make it easy, even put a how to video on thier website... But I dream

inb4 MS put a limit on how big of a non-MS hard drive you can use so they can sell you their own branded hard drives.

Why cant they just make a 1TB or even better a 2TB version you can buy? I totally would. I just don't like the external idea because then if your HDD fails you lose everything ... plus if everyone is doing this how does this work with next gen games when USB 2.0's are being used. Wouldn't load times suck? lol I'm just saying, with the technology they have external HDD's that we must buy that come in many different sizes and speeds is the BEST they can offer?

Edited by Unisaur 64: 5/19/2014 10:05:24 PMFor someone who hasn't gotten an Xbone yet, can anyone say how likely I am to use up 500GB and require an upgrade ? I get the feeling that they may restrict just how much space can be used from external sources, just like they did on the 360. Though, they wouldn't have much reason to do that now, as they can't give consumers the option to upgrade their in-console hard drive.

Quick question from someone who really is not computer/console/tech literate --- Will any type of external hard drive work or does it have to be a specific type/brand?
-
I highly doubt they'll let you use that large of an external storage. They'll probably limit off brand devices while they make a much larger external branded from microsoft.

That sauce is delicious. Thank you :)
-
External harddrives are probably limited to 32Gb or some other cruel joke...

Edited by Deleted User: 5/20/2014 2:11:09 AMCan you link a hdd that is compatible?
-
Or they could have just given the Xbone a better design and an upgradeable hard drive to begin with.
-
I can't wait to plug in my external hard drive into that small tight USB port.
-
I will split my wire for the HDD so i can get 4TB lolol

How much gig's are for one game?
