As of a few minutes ago, Gameplay Central went live. Well, kind of live. I'm still working on the site, trying to get the navbar to look at least presentable, unlike its horrible state it's in now. And you'll notice the Platforms page is blank. It's still very much being worked on.
Here's most of the original post:
It's aiming to compete with the likes of IGN, only I'm hoping to keep the standard of articles up. Reviews will be done in a different way to your usual expectations, so a true 10/10 may never even come around by our standards. The Feed is a section where our writers can post whatever they want, within reason, about games. Each writer gets their own dedicated Feed page, which can be accessed from the homepage (two latest Feed entries) or The Feed's actual page on the site.
With E3 just around the corner, I'm looking to be launched and ready to go by the end of this week.
Advice? Feedback on the appearance? General comments?
Things that need working on:
* Navbar. It's hideous, I know.
* Platforms page needs filling in.
* Articles and pages for games and consoles need doing. It's still WIP.

Update for those who care, the site is now live. It doesn't look as nice as I had originally designed because the hosting service uses a pretty shoddy designer, and it wouldn't support the background and fonts I had hoped to use. Still. Thoughts?

Looks good, but at the level you are talking about (non-site related), where are you going to get reporters from?

Looks pretty professional, great job. I think it would be better if you could add a forum to your site though. Even if it was small, you need to have a place where people can voice there concerns about the site (you can always have a way for people to send complaints via support@website.com but people tend to stray from those because they don't feel like their voice is heard). A forum can also be a great place to stir conversations about the games featured and for users to hang out together.

So much wasted horizontal space.
