To many of us, #OffTopic is filled with newfomans, who've yet to be initiated into our ranks, and ask questions like "Why do people post /thread," and "Why do people post Batman with prep time in every vs. thread?" To others, this place is filled with mean, grizzled ancients, who pick on them for asking questions like "Why do people post /thread," and "Why do people post Batman with prep time in every vs. thread?"
So, fellow Floodians, who do you consider to be a newfoman? Does it have a specific date, or do you just group all people you don't recognize in that shameful group?
Credit to Capiton Render and his Cosmic Wang for creating the term newfoman. Without his sacrifice, we would still be getting banned for saying newf--.
New to the site, new to the internet and generally unintelligent or ineloquent. If they can't type a sentence properly, misspell basic words and act like a 12 year old. They are probably a 12 year old. Thus making them a newfoman <.< You can be new, and not a newfoman. It just depends on whether or not you are a dipshit. If you have been around for a while, and you are still a dipshit then guess what? :D
You're a dipshit! Just not a newfoman.
Anyone who calls this trash "Flood". Anyone under 7 years membership as well.
-
I've only been in this place for 2 months and I already know it's true form.
-
For me it's anyone who doesn't remember all of the "nerf the Hornet" threads or the Tornado gun xD And pretty much anyone who doesn't understand basic forum policies. I stick to these because I'm constantly suprised at some of these alts being old users. My main used to be Xzavis but I lurked then more than now. And Brad Pitt? Strider! Friggin Strider man!

Edited by Dooodley: 8/3/2014 5:30:45 AMIf you werent there for when Bungie struck down on the Flood in late 2006-2007 and NF was created as a substitute, you're a new***. Bungie really screwed themselves there because here used to be some form of order and social filter.

Blame Stosh.

People who came here after the Darkness.

Less than 3 years. Even though i barely have 1 year under my belt i still feel like i know this place very well, in fact I've been like that a few months after I joined.

If they: >post exclusively in #destiny >know nothing of the flood or the internet in general >worship cod in their closet altar >talk like this: have u pwe-ordahed Destinay yet? My MOM bought it for me. Did YOUR mom buy yours? *giggles like a fat leopard seal on acid

It's not a word, so...

Edited by Byrne: 6/25/2014 11:21:51 PMSomeone who hasn't used B.old. Alternatively, someone who when hearing 'Cheerio chap!' just thinks of the stereotyped English farewell.
-
I dunno. Anyone who joined just for Destiny I guess. Also thank you jesus Render for getting banned for our sins.
-
-Someone who joined after the update -Came to B.net for Destiny -Knows nothing of The Flood -Acts like a general dipshit
I'm technically a Newfoman, but I've seen worse than me from way older than 4 year accounts.

People who weren't from Bnet.old

Edited by Mechetti: 6/25/2014 9:38:38 PMThis account is my new/old one, because my 2009 got banned. So I'd consider 2013 or 2012 up to be Newfoman. Edit:My account actually got banned for some random reason, or one I wasn't aware of, and I was unfortunatley unable to retrieve it.

Anyone who is not a supreme gentleman.

Edited by FoxTrottts: 6/25/2014 9:20:59 PMAnyone who has a b.net account for less than 1 year, and wasn't a halo fan until after Reach's release. Luckily, I was able to play halo 2 not long after halo 3's release and quickly became a fan. I joined b.net in October, so not long before I would consider myself a foman. Oldfoman would be 5+ years.
-
People who aren't from the pre-darkness age. As in not around for a Halo release from Bungie.
-
came 3 months ago cuz of a Halo Reach Challenge (I did know thats not longer bungies thing, but I wanted to meet some new communitys after I met some shitty ones). Destiny is like an Halo alternative with no motivation to play for me- and I dont really think I should buy it. I guess this is the nicest community Ive ever met! :) here are less idiots than somewhere else.
H8 comments incoming
Only people who use this as a 'thing'. Otherwise it has no existence.

I've been here since about this time in 2009. That's all I have to say.
