I'm the thing that covers your ears, I'm the thing that closes your eyes, I'm the thing that shuts your mouth when you scream, I'm the thing that makes the walls moan, I'm the thing that makes the floors creak, I'm the thing that makes broken glass broken, I'm the thing that unleashes your nightmares, I'm the thing that makes you afraid. I'm the body that stands behind you, I'm the breath that creeps down your neck, I'm the whisper down the hall, I'm your humanity being lost, I'm the reason you look over your shoulder, I'm the force that turns off the light, I'm the force that brings in the night, I'm the being that releases my beasts into the night, I'm the one who gives you scars, I'm the one who leaves them there, I'm the chill that runs up your spine, I'm your hair that stands on end, I'm the claw marks on your door, I'm the one who put them there, I'm the footsteps approaching you, I'm the reason you get scared, I'm the thing that opens the door, I'm the thing that smiles back when you cry, I'm the crack that splits the wall, I'm the one who makes your skin crawl, I'm your shame, I'm your fear, I'm your side that you never reveal, I'm the thing that wants to break out, I'm the one who holds it in, I'm the reason it wants to be released, I'm the victim, I'm the criminal, I'm the one who looks down upon you, I'm the one who you make fun of, I'm the one you hate, I'm the one that you want to remove, I'm the one who wants to remove. I am death, I am the life misspent, I am murder, I am void, I am the one you blame, I am the thing that corrupts and destroys. I am your guilt, I am your shame, I am your Greed. I am your Sloth. I am your Glutton. I am your Lust. I am your Envy. I am your Pride. I am your Wrath. I am the thing that you hide, I am the thing that you hide from, and most importantly, I am right behind you.
