Samus can also charge the shots of the power beams to create larger burst of energy,that are much more devastating in power.The power beam also has a large variety of upgrades that change its properties and increase its effectiveness. The long beam upgrade increases the power beams strength and distance. The ice beam allows the power beam to freeze enemies into solid blocks of ice,that can then be shattered with missiles or charge shot.The wave beam allows the power beam to pass through walls. Finally the diffusion beam will cause charge shots to break into smaller balls of exploding energy when it comes into contact with a solid object. [u]Dark Beam [/u] A Luminoth weapon discovered by Samus on the planet aether in Metroid Prime 2, the dark beam shoots beams of negative energy, that are more powerful and efficient than electricity. While using the dark beam Samus has access to two specialized techniques called the entangler and the dark burst.The entangler is used by charging the dark beam, and creates massive burst of dark energy that immobilize all enemies in the blast radius with a brittle ice like substance. The dark burst is used by combining the power of 30 units of dark ammo and 5 missiles, and creates a vortex that pulls enemies apart on a molecular level and sends their remains into another dimension. [u]Light Beam[/u] Another weapon developed by the Luminoth and discovered by Samus in Metroid Prime 2, the Light Beam fires beams of light that can pass through enemies and set them on fire. Similar to the dark beam, that light beam gives Samus access to two specialized techniques. The Lightblast is used by charging the power of the Light Beam, and creates between 3 and 10 spheres of white hot energy. These spheres home onto enemies and set them on fire on contact.The Sunburst technique is used by combining 30 units of light ammo with 5 missiles, and creates one large ball of energy that passes through opponents and incinerates them. [u]Annihilator Beam[/u] The ultimate weapon created by Luminoth in the game Metroid Prime 2. The Annihilator Beam combines the power of the Dark Beam and the Light Beam,into one unified beam of energy.The Annihilator Beam has incredibly fast rate of fire, homes in on enemies, and allows Samus to access two more specialized techniques called the Disruptor and Sonic Boom. The Disruptor is used by charging the Annihilator beam,and fires a large blast of electrical energy that can damage and stun nearby enemies.The sonic boom is used by combining the power of dark ammo, light ammo, and missiles, and creates in rift in space that homes in on targets and pulls them apart. [u]Zero Beam[/u] A large laser comprised of a blue/white energy used as a final smash in Super Smash Bothers Brawl. The Zero Laser creates a nearly inescapable beam of energy that sucks in all nearby enemies and expels them with a tremendous force.While being fired, Samus can sweep the beam in different directions This is ultimate attack, and normally proves fatal to any enemy caught within the beam. [u]Missiles[/u] Missiles are the second most used item in the Metroid series, and are well know for their ability to break though solid rock and penetrate most enemy defenses. Like the power beam Samus has gained several different upgrades to her missiles, that have increased their strength and effectiveness. The super missile is a more powerful version of the Standard missile. The Seeker Missile allows Samus to lock on to a enemy and fire 5 missiles simultaneously. The ice missile adds a freezing effect to Samus's standard missiles. Lastly the diffusion missile adds a charging move to ice missiles and allows Samus to create massive explosions that freeze enemies in the bast radius. [u]Morph Ball[/u] When transformed into morphball mode, Samus gains access to several different types of bombs and special attacks. The most common weapons are the morph ball bombs ,the power bombs and the death ball.The standard morph ball bombs cause small explosions of energy capable of defeating minor enemies and destroying small objects. Power bombs cause gigantic explosions of heat and energy that instantly vaporize most living things within the blast radius. Lastly the death ball envelops Samus in a sphere of electric energy capable of killing most enemies in one or two hits. [u]Paralyzer[/u] The paralyzer is a emergency pistol used by Samus in situations where her power suit is malfunctioning.The pistol shoots small bursts of electricity that can stun enemies for short periods of time.The paralyzer can also extend to form a plasma whip capable of tethering itself to enemies and nearby ledges ledges. The Varia suit not only increases Samus' defense, but allows her survive indefinitely in areas with extreme heat. It is able to incorporate almost any foreign technology seamlessly into its systems.This ability has been used dozens of times by Samus throughout the series, slowly allowing her to build the power suits strength and abilities. The Screwattack allows Samus to jump in the air while surrounding herself in electrical energy. The speed booster allows Samus to destroy enemies and walls by crashing into them at speeds between mach 1.2 and mach 4.9. The shine spark converts the Kinetic energy from the seed boosters into jumping power and the sense move is a jet pack that allows Samus to instantly move out of the way of incoming projectiles and attacks.The Varia suit is also well known for taking a a lot of abuse before its shields run out, being able to take direct hits from various weapons, lasers, explosive and giant monster attacks on a regular basis. [u]PED Suit[/u] The PED suit was developed by the galactic federation, after Samus was corrupted with Phazon, and her body began to produce it on her own. The PED suit allows Samus to control and harness the power of the Phazon inside her, and even allows her to access a special transformation called 'Hyper Mode'. However despite the apparent success of the PED suit, the Phazon inside Samus' body can still become unstable if Samus does not Actively control it. [u]Zero Suit[/u] The Zero suit is a skin tight piece of light armor that Samus will wear in situations where her power suit is unable to function. The zero suit allows for little protection, but does allow for some increased maneuverability, as well as access to the emergency paralyzer pistol.
