The first hints of changes to "Halo" multiplayer for "Halo 5: Guardians" on the Xbox One came with the E3 2014 trailer shown during Microsoft’s press conference. This followed with 343 Industries Design Director revealing that loadouts were a thing of the past as the game takes on a balanced. Franchise Director Frank O'Connor continued the theme late Tuesday night by talking the influence eSports and the moving away from reward based gaming in multiplayer.
Halo 5 Proper MP beta, not a demo No more Armour abilities Arena gameplay Fan feedback Returning to it's roots Potential Halo Wars 2 Two live-action series The whole lot looks great, H5 could turn out to be the X1's H3
-
Only way this works: Loadouts are gone 1-50 ranks reinstated Weapons back on map No ordinance No sprint Smaller maps If they screw up any one of those things then halo 5 will most likely be rubbish
-
I did sorta like Halo 4 MP, but remember all the "Halo is going back to its roots" stuff? Talk is cheap, wiat for actual gameplay first
-
Can't wait for everyone to get hyped about it again, then cry when it's released because it isn't exactly what they wanted. Then H4 will probably be considered amazing or something. The cycle continues.
-
eSports on consoles, lol.

Talk may be cheap, but they have never been so specific about what is and isn't in the game this time. They are explicitly denying load outs and are explicitly stating equal starts are in.
-
No more reward based gaming is fukken awesome. No more fuel rod ordnance for every kid that gets a kill. No more gold stars for participation.
-
Did they just say loadouts are gone?
-
Good news. But should only be taken with a grain of salt. Halo 4 was supposed to "bring back Halo" and "Halo is back!" talk before release and look what happened.
-
inb4 they overdo it.
-
Esports people can still just play the original Halo 1 on old Xboxes with LAN. I don't see why any new games would even need to be like this. It's just empty PR.
-
Like I said before talk is cheap, until they show something that proves this it's all bullshit.
-
As long as there are still ranks I'm cool with it.
-
Thank GOD.
-
Sounds good. The more competitive the better for me. :-)
-
What the hell. eSports is a good thing, but "away from being reward-driven" is, like, the opposite. Does that mean no more ranking system or something?
