Cortana used nanobots on the Dawn to modify Chief's Mark VI. He is wearing the same armor he was wearing in Halo 2/3. Aesthetically, it resembles a variant of Mark IV, but the Halo 2/3 version resembles another variant of Mark IV, and CE Mark V resembles yet another variant of Mark IV.
