Cheers Bros,
is the graphic we seen in the Alpha on PS4 the final form?
I hope not. For sure, the graphic is not bad, but DEFINITLY NOT Next-Gen. Its only a good old-gen Graphic.
The biggest issue are the low-res textures, that looks like Cod Ghosts. Of course the reflections are bad to, weapons looks like plastic.
Why is it not possible to create a true Next Gen title? Just look at Killzone Shadow Fall, maybe the gameplay is not the best, but the graphics are pretty fine with high-res textures and a amazing lightning system.
What are u Guys thinking? I think the graphic is in this time a important thing , because when a Company announce a next gen game, they should make a next gen game.
Greetings, Tribun

Hasn't changedz

Not sure what you're referring to. But it sounds very interesting.

Edited by TribunRO91: 6/16/2014 6:32:48 PMOk, here you got some Screenshots, some one still want to say that the textures are excellent? Just open your Eyes. (captures on PS4!)

Edited by DigiOps: 6/17/2014 8:46:29 PMKillzone Shadow Fall is also very linear. Think of how amazing closed track racing games can look and consider how many assets are actually being processed at any given time during gameplay. Same concept. Also, I've seen worse on PS4. Assassin's Creed IV was pretty bad visually. Gameplay was fun. It just wasn't as pretty as I would have hoped it would be for a "next gen" game. Of course, I didn't bitch about it because there's a lot more that goes into these things than the people who complain generally understand.

I don't get why everyone is complaining so much about the graphics, I found it to be absolutely amazing and at points found myself stopping and having to take double takes of certain views because of how beautiful they made the various environments look
-
The graphics are next gen bro. Were you old enough to remember the first games for the 360 or PS3? If not they looked awful compared to games that are currently coming out or did in the past year on the old consoles. It takes time for developers to use the systems potential.

Edited by KINGOFTHEJUICE-: 6/17/2014 2:22:05 PMYou know, I felt the graphics weren't that impressive at first. But the more I played the more I noticed things like how good the draw distance and anti aliasing are. How good the shadows are. Over the course of the alpha I realized that those things served to pull me into the game world much more than I could have imagined. I didn't get that fatigued feeling that comes with so many games with the sparkly aliasing and constant pop in. It felt very natural and solid. You also have to take into consideration that this is a large open world game, the most difficult type of game to make 'pretty'. Compared to something like a racing game which is very easy. When i first read about ps4 i didn't think it would be possible run something like destiny (1080p open world without pop in, etc) i think it's a technical achievement. Better textures would be nice but not at the expense of the AA or current draw distance. It's very immersive as is.

Edited by ShredderHD: 6/17/2014 2:21:39 PMI have to disagree, the reflections where amazing and the water def looked very real. The shadows were awesome and I tended to forget that it was a game. I would take these graphics with a larger more immersive open world, then the Killzone graphics and the simple run through game play. Make sure your monitor or TV isn't to blame. I have a top of the line TV and the game looks amazing.

Edited by FairlySplendid: 6/17/2014 2:25:16 PMFor all of Killzone's hype about "OMG GRAPHICS" the game was a snooze. Being next-gen is about more than just graphics. It's about gameplay too.

You can say whatever you want about the alpha graphics, but that lighting and shadow engine was amazing. Like, wow, every source of light generated real time shadows. Realistic ones too. And those clouds. And the turning sun. Amazing/10

Here's a link to an article about how the alpha graphics are nowhere near the quality of the final release. "As for how the wider development of Destiny is going, it seems to be an exciting time over at Bungie. “What’s really cool for me personally as an environment artist is that the game is already looking better than what people are playing in the alpha, which is really cool. It’s like, hey guess what? This is only going to get better.”" Hope this helps.

The more time Bungie spends on the graphics, the less time they can spend on the gameplay. That's why Shadowfall sucked.

OP: you're dumb.... Seriously, please don't buy the game...
-
I think you are full of your self, and no offense intended...
-
no the beta will be much better but alpha looked great i dont give a shit it was game play for me awesome

Personally, I would rather have a fun game than an awesome (graphically) looking game that is not fun to play such as your example of KZ. Graphics are not the only thing that makes a game "next-generation," features, overall experience, game flow, innovative ideas, innovative gameplay are all the things that can make a game truly next-generation. I mean come on, we are going to play the first game of its type, it is a new genre of gaming.
-
i don't give a shit if i has halo 3 graphic but if they add split-screen then I'm happy and i will forgive bungie
-
Alpha or not Graphics are kinda on the bad side. It should look much better then it dose on PS4. i was let down a bit by the gameplay graphics. But a Great game/world otherwise!!!!!
-
If we have the ability to discuss some aspects of the game? Especially the improvement of the graphic, why dont take the chance? the Devs want to hear what we like to change or what they can do better.
-
okay so i came across this:http://venturebeat.com/2014/06/15/how-bungie-came-up-with-the-unique-look-of-destiny-interview/ GamesBeat: What’s going to change between now and launch? Everyone’s going to see what it looks like pretty soon. What do you think they’ll notice at the end, when it ships? Sussman: It’s already looking better. What people are seeing in alpha right now, we’ve already started improving on that. We’re actively testing the systems. We’re trying to push these new consoles as far as we can. We’ve pushed the 360 and the PS3 really far. We want to deliver, on all four consoles, the best possible experience. so, no its not final. looks fine to me the way it is so... whateva :P

Edited by GalaxySpider: 6/16/2014 9:38:10 PMYou should know that most MMO style games don't really look that good because of all the networking in the background. Sure, Destiny is not a pure 100% MMO with like hundreds of players per screen (WoW, Guild Wars etc), but still, it has a lot of stuff to do in the background, you don't really see but which is at least as important like in the games mentioned above. And for a game of this kind, Destiny looks great. Epic skyboxes. Beautiful lighting and shadowing. Many amazing 3D modeled background panoramas (not just 2D images). The weapons look very detailed and good, have different looks (metallic shine etc), different sights with tiny details as well. Enemies also have great details on them. Vehicles like the one-seat like tank on the PvP moon map are animated pretty sweet. I can't complain about Destiny's graphics.

sorry Phrase Universe, i startet to play the alpha and then i registred, whats wrong with this?

Have you forgotten that this game is also coming out on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3? Current-gen consoles are holding this game back. Not that I'm necessarily bothered by that though. The install base for Xbox 360 and PS3 is huge, there's still life left in those consoles and that's where a significant portion of the profit is going to be made. As long as games being released on PS4 and Xbox One are still getting versions on PS3 and Xbox 360, they aren't considered real next-gen titles.

Destiny is made for last gen too. That's why. Then got upgraded for this gen systems.
