Just a heads up: I have not played the Alpha myself.
Basically what the title says. I'm a gamer who really has no patience for other players. They either get in my way or they breeze through things so fast that I have no time to appreciate the design or lore of a level. I value immersion and just love doing things on my own, playing with others just ruins the gaming experience for me.
That being said, I was willing to accept and put up with having to deal with people here and there (having played World of Warcraft from 2005 to 2013, though doing my best to avoid people there as well) with the assurances of Bungie I would still be able to do my own thing and experience the story alone, but...
I've watched a few videos of the Alpha and in all of them, matchmaking seemed to be on for everything. There was no Lone Wolfing it, as was/is being touted by Bungie. So, for players who HAVE played the Alpha: Is this true? Were you forced into playing with other people, or are there players out there who were able to run around and do things alone?
I ask because I truly want to give Destiny a chance. It looks amazing, and the universe has grabbed me. I want to experience the story that Destiny has to tell, but I just don't want to be forced to play with strangers to do it.
