Thank you for the explanation! In that case, thank you but no prox chat (I struggle enough with lag as it is, hooray for the 3rd world!)

I'm guessing that you didn't see my recommendations for chat settings at the bottom of the post. Proximity chat will be optional, so if it causes your game to lag, you can simply switch to fire team chat or just turn chat off completely.
