Edited by Kalinka: 11/11/2015 2:10:29 AMIsis has to be dealt with. As sad as war and death may be. They cannot be forgiven and must be disspelled from this world. But the innocent must not be harmed. It would only lead to more outrage and violence.

I know it seems cold to say, but the US sacrifice is a sunk cost. Getting involved won't bring those men and women (in the case of Iraqis, children as well) back to life, and you can't recover the money or time. If we're going to get involved, it should be to prevent future threats, not to make sure our previous efforts didn't go to waste.

There's a mental trap many people fall into where if you spend a lot of resources on something that fails, you want to keep spending more so that your losses weren't in vain. But the fact is that if something just is too expensive or hopeless, pouring more resources into it just isn't a good idea, no matter how much you have already spent. The Americans who died in Iraq died for nothing, and that can't be changed. Sending more Americans to their deaths won't somehow validate it. We screwed up going in there at all, we just need to accept it and stop sending our people to die.

Edited by BADMAGIK: 6/21/2014 5:41:22 AMOnly if oil supply is in jeopardy. Being serious Oil is crucial for our country and when people rant on about how the US only fights wars for oil I always say "NO SHIT!" You wouldn't have your God damn computer your ranting on if it wasn't for oil

We shouldn't have last time, but I think this time we should. These guys are getting powerful which is bad. How long until they start bombing UK cities again? How long until they start attacking America again? The world isn't safe with these people having the type of stuff they now have and someone needs to put a stop to them.

Every serviceman that died throughout the ENTIRE Iraq and Afghan war had NOTHING to do with protecting anyone's freedoms in the United States. The entire war was based off a -blam!-ing intentional LIE! The United States is the reason why Iraq became shit before we even decided to invade...and make it more shitty. The United States is the modern Roman Empire and it will meet the same fate by it's own hand. Yet, people in the US still love being patriotic and attack anyone who brings up the fact that our country is run by corrupt assholes that send our troops to die for oil, money, and whatever imperialism agendas they have. Can't expect much. You can only ignore shit for so long before you become willingly ignorant.

We need to be selfish for a bit until we get our financial problems strait.
