Keeping the Forums Clean and Full of Discussion!
Hey people!
I'm posting this here because #Destiny really needs a good ol' reminder.
Many of us here on b.net seem to agree that there's a lot of [i]hoopla[/i] happening on these forums. And by hoopla, I mean:
Flamebait.
Trolling.
Nonsensical off-topic discussions that don't relate to anything.
Copy-and-paste console war threads.
Copy-and-paste why I disagree with the console war threads.
Etc.
So I'd like to offer a friendly reminder to everyone: [b]PLEASE USE YOUR REPORTING TOOLS.[/b] Since moderating is now kind of in the hands of the community, it's partially up to us to maintain these boards.
I know the good apples are out there, floating around, too afraid to come out because of all the bad apples filling up these threads. But there's enough of us that we can definitely start cleaning this place up.
If you see a lousy thread, user, post, what have you, [b]REPORT IT[/b]. If something is reported enough, it WILL get attention from the Moderators looking at the reporting queue and chances are it WILL be addressed.
Let's leave [b]no hoopla un-reported[/b], and it'll only be a matter of time that we'll all enjoy some rousing and joyful discussion once again!
We'll need everyone's help and commitment if we are to fix this place up, so don't hesitate. Identify a problem, report it immediately, and wait for a greater future that we'll all benefit from.
And lastly, when a problematic thread arises: [b]DO NOT REPLY TO IT.[/b] Rather than bump it up through the page and give it a spotlight, [b]simply identify it, report it, move on.[/b]
So please show your support in the comments so we can get this long overdue clean-up session rolling!

1 ReplyYeah, removing all those Console war shit posts would clear the air some. The posts that we all seen 100's times on just about on any forums on any website, all they do is put more fuel on that crap. But to make things clear, "console war" is just some shit people started calling it. There is no war, but there is competition between the 2 systems and there supporting fans. The only "war" is that of between both side's ignorant and/or trolls, basically. Just don't expect competitiveness of consoles to go away, and there is nothing wrong with competition. They should at least not cross a line and head to pure flaming bs. There isn't anything wrong with competitive talk, some may say it has no place on Destiny forums, but it does in certain subjects(rare times). So "console war" threats deleted on the spot, but talks that bring up consoles need a good look at to see what direction those posts or replies are taken. One problem is simply deleting things will probably just make them more angry, some of these people are upset so anyone up to it should try to explain why they were out of line at least?, [b]perhaps best left to the Mods in a private message after deleting posts/replies[/b]. You don't remove toxic players, you make them untoxic... if that fails then you shot them into the Sun and pray they never return with the Sun God and challenge Superman again with a fight that spills over to Bungie's Destiny servers.

Trolling does get boring sure but I've yet to see any good destiny threads. The ones I do I don't troll.

There is always idiots on these kind of forums. It's like the awarage iq drops buy 90% in most open Internet forums ( including Facebook ). I like the initiative bro and I agree with you in my hart but my mind says that's it's a pointless battle to fight. Regards

One thing to remember is in a community you always have the good and the bad. We can only help grow our community. By grow I do not mean grow in size I mean we need to mentor others to form a fun gaming community.

Yes! Regardless of what boxes we will be playing Destiny on, we are all just fans of the game. I would love to see the discussions in the forums leave behind the console war nonsense. This guy gets it.
