Most PC games aren't coming out after the console version too. Plus Bungie is trying to keep the FPS and resolution the same for all consoles/computers. Let's not also forget that not everyone with a PC has a super expensive computer and it would discourage people who can't run 1080p 60fps on PCs. Less people buying the game means less money that Bungie makes.

  • A lot of PC ports come out after their console counterparts. See the thing with PC gaming is that your graphical fidelity is flexible/scalable. Any modern build can run any new game 1080/60 low-medium settings.

  • Ok. But who wants to look at low-medium settings (meaning low quality textures) at 1080p? Sure. Performance is good, but the game look scrappy.

People who have older builds but haven't gotten around to upgrading their GPU... Have you not seen how pros play SC2? 1080p low settings for most games(not all) still looks better than most console games pushing out 720/900p medium settings.

  • Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Competitive strategy gamers don't care about pretty graphics as that would slow down their cpm and with it their ability to be competitive. Since Starcraft has not been ported, we can't to a direct comparison. However, recent videos of Diablo III on PS4 are out and it looks great. Just as good as I can recall playing on my PC with max settings.

  • D3 isn't graphically demanding(beautiful game nonetheless. Love the hand painted backgrounds). But games like BF4(best example so far for PC-next gen comparison since Ubisoft doesn't know how to use a PC). Low-medium settings @1080/60 looks much better than the 900p medium settings you'll get on the PS4.

  • Never saw BF4 on PC in person. Hard to tell differences from tube vids. I thought it was very good looking in PS4. I think a good comparison is when we get to see Witcher 3 side by side from console to PC. That developer is known for gorgeous set pieces.

  • CD Projekt Red is going to melt PCs though. They don't scale down any version of their games.

  • This is true. I have a circa 2010 ASUS ROG laptop that chokes on low settings for Witcher 2. It has a nvidia 560m gpu w/ 6gb ram.
