You can spend about $600 to get a PC that out performs either of the next gen consoles. I spent less than $550 for a 4k rig. Mind you, I'm reusing some things from past rigs (tower, monitor, 8 gigs of RAM [did pick up 8 more], and soundcard) but it can be done on the cheap. Hell the monitor only cost me $150 (gotta love the clearance deals). Point is, you can build these systems on the cheap to out perform either of the new consoles.
