Ok, so call me a nerd but I like that this groups acronym is DoD. Has this group been linked to a clan? If so I think we should unite the DoD clans under one group. I am the founder of Four Old School Gamers and would happily join our clan under the larger DoD group. Thoughts?

A great clan always begins with members having common interests and similar goals. Dads of Destiny was founded on that very concept. We are all gamer dads looking to get the best experience possible from Destiny with other gamer dads. The foundation has been laid by Kingpin2 and Stop Shooting me, we have our "base of operations" established, and now it's time to evolve into something bigger. Bungie has stated that they will be providing us with the tools to do such a thing. It is up to us to take those tools and use them to our advantage. For starters. A clan will have a member cap. This number has not been confirmed but suggested by DeeJ...
could be 100... could be 150
which puts Dads of Destiny well above either number. Stop Shooting me has reassured that we will have sub-clans for each console which is a great start. I've scrolled through the PSN/XBL threads (those really need to be pinned as announcement for easy access) and we appear to have sufficient membership to sustain these sub-clans. Separate groups appropriately titled would be the next step. This would ensure that everyone in those groups would be on the same platform which will later be transformed into clans when Bungie updates the site. I suggest groups titled the following be reserved for Dads of Destiny... Dads of Destiny PS4 Dads of Destiny PS3 Dads of Destiny XboxOne Dads of Destiny Xbox360 These groups/sub-clans will be under the alliance of Dads of Destiny and should NOT be used as a form of separation of members or a "go to" hub for news or information but a place to set up gaming sessions easily with members on the same console. This will also keep this forum more organized. This main group, Dads of Destiny, will be used for news/info/hangout or group specific announcements. The real beauty in all of this is you do not have to join the "Clans" if you would rather chill out here in the main group. (mentioned by DeeJ). This also opens up future opportunities for additional sub-clans to be specifically created for casual/competitive play or for specific game modes (explore, story, strikes, raids, crucible). This is great considering how many unique personalities, play styles, and varied gaming times we will have here. Dads of Destiny truly is a great phenomenon that has increased it's numbers exponentially since it's concept. I look forward to watching it evolve into a great comradery of friends we can all count on. Being a gamer is awesome... being a dad is the greatest thing that can ever happen to a man! :)

There are also Alliances you can have between groups, coming to the website closer to game launch. It's basically a shared forum so each group can interact with each other, but not have the thread in the main forums. Pretty nifty stuff.

Edited by Guardian of DCF: 7/9/2014 10:43:21 AMI was finally able to listen to the Podcast with DeeJ in it's entirety (took a while but hey... done lol) and I have a pretty firm grasp of the message he was trying to get across. I have come up with a few ideas that I will share later when time permits.

So just to confirm how it all works, we have the DoD group (or alliance) and within that individual clans can be formed. But at the moment the clan forming function isn't available, right?

Edited by Stop Shooting me: 7/9/2014 12:03:50 AMJust letting everyone know that DoD will have a clan and sub clan on all consoles. Seeing as so many other clans appear to be quite concerned.

Deej was on guardian radio last night and went into detail about how clans and clan of clans (alliances he called them, I think) will work. http://theguardiansofdestiny.com/2014/07/08/guardian-radio-episode-68-with-deej/

Come and join The Travelers Elite Guard, a cross console clan for every console. We are growing fast and are open through beta and maybe long after. We focus on every type of gameplay preferred by each player. Come visit us http://www.bungie.net/en/Groups/Detail?groupId=99424 and sign in with the main clan group and then pick the group of your choice but remember there are different groups for each console. Once you join please join the recruitment squad so I can fill you in all the details and guide you to the right spot. Thanks!

A clan hasn't been made at this stage at all. The group really only started from a forum post by Kingpin yesterday and has started to evolve from there. It will be good to get something on a larger scale started by, to be honest, I wouldn't know where to start.

We got notice in the weekly update that: Guardian of DCF Will current Groups have the option to become a Clan? You’re onto us. You want a clan under a very specific banner? Reserve your Bungie.net group name now. No squatting. I reserve the right to have Achronos change your name to something unsightly if you try to pose as an outfit that you don’t own.

Hi bud, at the moment as the guys have said nothings really been sorted as of yet and I'm really totally blown away by the way this seems to have exploded lol. As far as clans go I have a few thoughts wizzing around my head but foremost has to be that there's no leadership, no rules a far as play or commitment goes, basically total player freedom as the real world is quite demanding. I absolutely love that there's a real diverse group from all ages and backgrounds from all over the world. Absolutely love it! Any thoughts on anything spit them out here lol i keep saying it I know but I'm so glad to have put the thread out there now, feels great to be part of an awesome community with you all :-)

I may be a bit naive but does having a clan accomplish more than this group. Honestly I have never been in a clan or guild before besides a small group of close friends. I like the idea and would also participate where I could. What would need to be done to make this clan a thing?
