So only 6 maps are going to be running on this graphics engine?

My theory is that they are going to be adding new maps throughout the year as DLC that run on the Hybrid H2/H4 engine. So, additionay maps upgraded like the 6 they're talking about now.

I doubt it, but it would be cool.
-
Why would you doubt it? H5 Beta will last a month. Come March/April, they release another 3-9 maps as DLC. Come august, another 3-9 maps. Come November, we all buy H5!

All Halo 2 maps, in smexy graphix? Who needs Halo 5? Of course I will still buy Halo 5, but this is the Halo community we're talking about. "Muh Halo 2 competitiveness"
-
Not really a graphics engine. It's a combo of Halo 4's and Halo 2's engine. But yeah, just six maps. Ascension Lockout Coagulation Zanzibar ??? ???
-
So the rest of the maps will look as they did in their original state, just in 1080p/60fps?
-
Correct. Including the 6 maps that are being remade. They will still have their classic 2004 versions.

You can probably add Midship to that list as well.
-
Why? It has yet to be confirmed.
-
I think it's a safe bet. Midship definitely seems to be one of the most beloved Halo 2 MP maps. During the panel some of that was touched upon - Andy talking about how it was the most universal in competitive play.
-
The Midship concept art. Why else show it if it wasn't going to be on the list? I figure Midship and Headlong will round it all out.

Edited by Lord of Admirals: 7/5/2014 11:04:24 PMHmm? Because, they said they were going to go over old development ideas and stories for Halo 2. If you didn't watch the panel, Bungie was trying to turn Halo into Battlefield essentially. The guy responsible for Halo 2's MP fought against it.
