I talked about something like this quite some time ago with somebody on here. Wishing I could just copy paste that here now. Guess not. Anywho, A man is an interesting title and mindset to think of, as really, there's a lot of misconceptions about what a "man" can be considered. To me, I keep this view down to the barebones simple side of things. A man is a person who holds the weight of others on his shoulders as well as his own. There is no physical quality that defines a man, only the will behind him. A man holds a commanding presence, but is not arrogant or crude to others around him. He treats all with respect. A man does his best not to resort to petty violence when it comes calling, nor seek it, but instead, use common sense and words to do his best to diffuse a situation. A man is stern when he needs to be, but is capable of showing emotion rather than a blank face of stone to those around him, and capable of speaking his thoughts on his mind to those that will listen. And most importantly, a man will not let his ego step in front of him to call the shots or make decisions. He keeps a sensible head on him. When something is too heavy for him to move without breaking something, then it is too heavy to move. If he does not know how to do something, rather than try, fail, and look that of a fool, he admits that he simply doesn't know, and learns how through being taught. That in my eyes is what makes an ideal man. Strong and proud where he needs to be, yet open to any and all around him with an accepting nature. Level headed and calm when fighting arrives, and sensible enough to show that he is a human being with his own thoughts and feelings, while never letting his ego get the best of him. The sooner people start realizing that all this macho shit is retarded, the sooner things can flow a little smoother.
