This thread is about all things beer. Post pictures of your favorites; give recommendations; argue about the difference between lagers and ales; try to explain that your homebrew isn't poison; etc.
If it's related to beer, feel free to post it here. I'll start:
The bottle posted above is a growler (for those who don't know). Growlers are 64 fluid ounces and you can buy and get them filled at almost all breweries. I picked this one up over the holiday weekend from the Devil's Backbone Brewing Company which is just a few miles away from my vacation house in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
I got this growler filled (for $10) with their Striped Bass Pale Ale which is a "refreshing pale ale...created to be consumed while enjoying the bounty of the [Chesapeake] Bay and protecting local waters. Gold in color with a light body & pleasant hop bouquet of traditional noble German hops blended with the intense citrus of American hop varieties. 4.8% ABV, 22 IBUs." A wonderful low-intensity ale if you ask me. Great for drinking throughout the night due to the low ABV and it's quite shy compared to the boldness of other ales.
So, what are you guys favorite beers? Feel free to post pictures, links to breweries and all manner of conversations so long as they're about beer and don't violate the forum rules.
I've also included a poll to see what The Floods favorite kind of beer is overall, so please vote as well.

i have a basic checklist:not budweiser, not too nutty, not too bitter and not made with unfiltered mexican water(you shouldn't get sick from beer : ( ) if it meets those criteria, it's good enough.

If I can see through it, I don't drink it.

If we're talking IPA, then ale. Otherwise, lager. A personal favorite of mine is ginger beer, mostly because it's what got me into liking beer overall.

Edited by CaliforniasGold: 7/7/2014 6:18:44 AMI really enjoy this 329 Days of Sun lager from Los Angeles-based Golden Road brewery. It's a great session beer and was a pretty big hit at my last few BBQs. My favorites are a good double IPA like Avery's Maharaja, or a black rye IPA like Firestone Walker's Wookey Jack.

Edited by Beta Neckbeard: 7/7/2014 9:05:31 AMSo much more flavor in an ale, generally the darker the better IMO I'm a stickler for Guinness

Just looking at it makes me want to get a bottle.
