Dafuq is wrong with y'all? Scones and Biscuits(US) are completely different. Scones are a lot more dryer and don't back as much flavor. Biscuits are flaky and buttery with fluffiness.

Cookies and Biscuits are 2 different things, and that is a scone in the OP. No where in the World has a bigger and better biscuit/cookie selection than the UK so trust us.
