Lag Compensation
So one of the dreaded companions of multiple FPS games is lag compensation.
This has previously been done in the name of improving gamers' experiences within multi-player environments. I have personally found it to be more of a frustration than an experience booster. What is Bungie's stance on this? Is Destiny going to have something similar implemented?

1 ReplyLag comp is NEEDED or else we would all be shooting ghosts... That being said, they had gone a bit overboard. I've noticed a little less delays compared to b4, but its still present. A game with high ttk times doesn't need this much lag comp. Period Be glad laggers aren't gods like in other games without fast ttks. I remeber playing uncharted 3 against ksa and brazilian players who were bullet sponges, killed u 5 seconds after their death, and teleported everywhere making u miss...

2 RepliesI am beyond sick of shitty internet being a -blam!-ing advantage. With a terrible connection in the crucible every 3rd step is a blink to your fifth or sixth step. If it was a built in ability, it would have been nerfed six times by now. If this game wants subscribers who can't afford a good connection, and is therefore going to cater to them, I'll take my time and money elsewhere. What the -blam!- is the point of working on any gear, when all you need is a dial up modem and a shotgun.

Advanced Warfare's lag compensation is down right dreadful compared to destiny. Putting 8 shots into someone's head only to be killed by the enemy putting 3 into your foot is down right frustrating

The problem with Destiny's netcode is that it seems to benefit laggers and punish people with good connections.

Why do I have to suffer because some dimwit can't afford decent internet? I pay good money because I want a better connection, but the better your speed, the worse of a disadvantage you get in this game. It's completely retarded. Your skill means absolutely nothing because Bungie decides that you can't hit Jose because he can't afford a connection that would even register yellow. If you pay attention to the boards nowadays, the only people coming out on top are all red bar players with slow connections. Seriously, when did it become necessary to DOWNGRADE your internet to get an advantage?
