There body requires no food because guardians are captured dead souls being used to do the ghost/travelers bidding. A normal living being with a soul works towards expanding itself and repaying karmatic debt so it may move to higher realms of consciousness. There is no need repair DNA codes thru foods because a guardians purpose in life is to be a slave of the traveller.
