Was it cut from the beta, from the game, or ... ?

Skip to 2 minutes, 8 seconds. One of the reasons the game seems smaller than suggested. (this is from a closed doors press (I think?) version of the original E3 Destiny demo) My question is: Was our ability to go to these wider areas of old russia cut from the beta, from the game itself including what we'll see in september (and I'll elaborate more on this), or was this really just a suggestion that "Hey, we designed the backdrops the same way we designed the game areas, so, theoretically, if we wanted to, we could let you go there at a later downloadable content date." ? I'm leaning towards the middle and latter. Originally, Halo was an even more open world type of game, but Bungie decided shooters required corridors and closer spaces, so they altered the bounds of the game. Similarly, Destiny was originally meant to be an open world fantasy game (I think it's safe to wholly assume), and (similarly) became a shooter. I would have thought they'd of closed the bounds sooner, and prevented the employee (sorry dude, I didn't catch your name) above from suggesting what he suggested, (as well as seeing Guardians drop down from areas in The Divide during the E3 demo's Public Event that in the beta has an invisible wall preventing you from getting into) but then, there's always the possibility that they really, really did try to implement a larger, more mmo type of world and just found they couldn't figure out a way to make it as fun as a closer/closed type of first person shooter world. Because this, and etc, I see no reason why they would open it up later like, say, World of Warcraft did when they remade much of the original 'vanilla; WoW areas to make it 'flying-mountable' friendly; Shooters tend to get area redoes, like in Mass Effect, or previous Bungie games, never inclusions PLUS expansions, like in mmo's such as stated World of Warcraft. This is a battle between mmo style and fps style. I enjoy both types of games, but was certainly hoping for more of the stuff (such as an open world) that let's you enjoy the exploration and discovery and terrain 'mastery' feeling (you can get from jumping up steep hills, etc, like in Skyrim or WoW) that you tend to only get in MMO's (and Elder Scrolls). Now, I'm done talking; I want to hear your opinions; I want to have your extra insights. I want to better understand why Destiny may or may not be as open as some of us had hoped. Please.
