I'm a smaller guy - 5'4", so my hands aren't that big. The PS4 controller moves my thumb from a comfortable resting position (what the 360 gave me) to an extended position of the thumb. I agree that for most people, though, it's probably more comfortable or at least they don't have this particular problem.
