It's on the same scale as furries, just down the scale. My point still stands, it's still inappropriate.

The fate of the entire species depends on them. And one of them is wearing cat ears. [spoiler]A child is upset and a civilian ponders why a furry is a Guardian. The guardian quickly becomes upset at the notion that they are a furry and smugly points out the difference.[/spoiler]

I would say out of place, not inappropriate. I know they pretty much mean the same thing, but people are always nitpicking you know? They definitely would look weird and kinda ruin the epic feel of seeing all the bad ass guardians walking around the tower
