A little bit about flashlights, would you like a toggle?

Yes, I would like to have a toggle button

This is based on my own experience coupled with a few of my friends and comrades experiences in the Beta test. The purpose of this small article is to bring attention to something that isn't loot, level, or power related, but of a minor and slightly less catastrophic nature. This article is about the light within the Ghost and our lack of control outside of dramatic moments. When my friends and I partook of the beta test we had a blast consuming and exploring all that the beta test had to offer, it was amazing. The one thing that was a little irksome to me that Bungie is fairly adroit at implementing was lack of a controllable flashlight in very dark areas. Now I know the general overarching theme we've been able to infer is the whole Light versus Darkness battle of epic proportions, a fact that I can understand would lead to a creative design philosophy of dynamic lighting (including usage of suffocating darkness) to set the mood. The issue I take with context-based flashlight usage via your Ghost (big fan of Mr. Dinklage and am ecstatic he's applying his talents to voice-acting for games) is that it is somewhat unresponsive at times. With all of the dark caves and subway tram locations in the Cosmodrome area alone set aside, the first time you run into the Hive within the Cosmodrome (The Dark Within) caused a bit of an issue as some of us had issues with the light from our ghost(s) activating at upon our crossing of the threshold of the room. This was also prevalent throughout the free roaming sections of the game. The light would either turn on a little late or not at all. This situation most of the time could be rectified by turning your brightness up past the recommended dosage, I however enjoy the dramatic lighting, Bungie did a fabulous job on it. I am just a bit uneasy with the lack of control of my personal lighting for exploring and finding explorable secrets and rewards that might be missed by those who don't take the time to look around. As such I humbly make the following recommendations, 1)Tighten the responsiveness so that the light picks up on the scenarios that it might be needed. 2)Create a toggle for the light ( Edit: A toggle interaction button when interacting with the Ghost akin to the Orbit button may be feasible) and apply whatever limitations you wish on it. 3) Ignore my plea and allow the Darkness its minor victory for we shall scour it with the light of the Traveler regardless. Thanks for reading everyone! Feel free to leave ideas, comments, and sound off in general to garner Bungie's attention to this topic. Ciao. Went into a medium sized cave by the Skywatch, and it was basically pitch black. Ghost didn't turn on the flashlight, so I had to adjust the brightness setting of the game to get out. ...Or spend 5 minutes walking into rocks and walls...
