Forgive my ignorance, but I just came across this and don't know what to make of it just yet. I could see gamers using it in Destiny Crucible.
What do you guys think? Would you buy the Hipshotdot? Apparently they sell is at Gamestop.

Edited by Raptor: 8/9/2014 8:07:13 AMIts cheap for sure although I can definitely see this improving a players kdr and being effective i have never heard of this until you posted it but it does look to be a crazy advantage since many gamers just cant tell the exact center without the sight
-
Its not cheating by definition unless there is a rule or rules saying you cant do it otherwise its not cheating, and honestly in my opinion scuff controllers give people a way better advantage and thats not even considered cheating
-
In one respect, I could see this as dev designer oversight such as the designed sight not being visible when it really should be. However the main issue, as already mentioned by other people in this thread would be that obviously it's just another form of cheating. Sure other people wouldn't necessarily know, but the player would know, and this just seems to take away the fun in the game. You're no longer looking for a challenge, or to play for fun, you're playing just to win. Sure when you play a game, you play to win, but it'd be more fun to master the skills needed to do so, than to have to rely on a glowing dot to mitigate any learning curve. The thing I had to laugh at though was their use of the US Marines quote, "Always cheat, always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.", which can certainly hold true to this day... if you're a soldier in real life (and not talking about a fictional video game character)!!! Makes me think that all these 12 year olds should be given live ammunition, thrown on to the field against some oppressive military, and told to fight to win...

I do not see something like this improving my ability to takedown my opponents. Honestly, I am sort of indifferent to it. If someone wants to have it, they can have it for all I care. It is not like this 'hipshotdot' will grant them impeccable accuracy at all ranges.
-
i don't think its cheating(at least not unless Bungie come out and say it is)but its definitely not cool
-
Why buy it? Just make one yourself. I will say, though, that some people need to stop taking the game so seriously.
-
Burn them. Burn them all.
-
I don't think this works well in games that have hip fire penalty.
-
Hahaha I can't believe what I just watched, I feel it would screw up my tv screen :p and not to mention be cheating juuuust a bit IMO
-
People are stupid. For beginners it could useful. But learning to Aim is one of the things if the gAme right?
-
I am in two minds about this. It is cheating if you use it in a game where the lack of sights is part of the balancing. Say powerful sniper rifles having no crosshair outside the scope, to prevent them from being hip cannons of doom. Just an example. On the other hand, certain developers fail to understand that the whole point of sights are that they should be visible, and also that not all games are played in a deep bunker on the dark side of the moon. In that case this gadget corrects a flaw in the game.
-
I can see why some people would use it (new gamers or possibly vision impaired), but to be honest I think any self respecting FPS player should know where the dead center of their screen is.
-
Who cares, I can tell where dead centre on my screen is either way
-
What kind of person doesn't know where the Center of the screen is when their are crosshairs around the Center
-
wow, that is some next level bullshit.
-
Idk about cheating. But shit like this is definitely not cool to have.
-
I would call it cheating because now your not on the same level with other players now you have help. It also defeats the Purpose of different sights because your supposed to struggle with some and then upgrade as a reward, and shooting from the hip is also supposed to b for emergencies and considered to b more of a gamble, but with this its not a gamble or estimation anymore. you think that isn't cheating?
-
not sure about cheating but definitely hits around the aspect of cheating
-
No, because it's unnecessary and doesn't give an advantage to the player.
-
I wouldn't call it cheating, but I would call it being a panzee and a wimp

Edited by TnT Recks: 8/9/2014 5:47:32 AMI used to do this a couple years back when quickscoping was first getting popular, and I wanted to increase my accuracy. Except, I used some scotch tape and a marker.

Lol, if u need that u could use the boost anyway... What kinf of pleb can't see where the middle of the screen is?
-
my view is that it provides an unfair advantage outside of the games designed parameters
-
It's not cheating, it's just really stupid and a complete waste of money.

Did some research and this thing is $30 on Amazon. Im not paying for that shit if you could easily just make it, and I'm sure most other players won't either. I've got better things to spend my money on.
