I'd imagine that they left a semblance of the data to hold us over/play with on our companion app/site. It wouldn't be difficult to leave a shallow copy just for that purpose. They'll probably wipe that for release. Besides,as he said in the update, by the time they finish making tweaks and changes to the game; the actual full character data is probably so jacked it's not usable anymore.
