Is it true that Destiny servers
Won't open until 3:00am est? I know servers will be up at 12:00am PDT on 9/9/14. So does that mean I really have to wait those 3 hrs. Kinda makes the midnight launch not worth wasting my time on. Edit: anyone that's playing Destiny on PS3 is welcome to join my clan: The Ancient One. If interested check out the group,we have about 18 members so far. 1 ReplyWell I think this thread at least shows that we need some clarification from those in the know. I want to book some time off. But I need to know if it's even worth it before I do. The closer we get to release, the less likely it becomes that my vacation request would be accepted.

I think they will be up just like all other games that get midnight launches, you never see players unable to play online with things like cod etc, servers are usually up and running for a few days

Much like the beta character transfer issue, I would expect this gets clarified in the Weekly Update. Hopefully tomorrow and not the 22nd.

5 RepliesUh...if it opens at 12am pacific...that's not a 3 hour wait...unless you're getting a physical copy. I've been used to it...I've been buying digital for a while now, and midnight releases, if it works out right, are scheduled for midnight pacific. Since I live in Washington state...that works out. Also, with the preload option, I plan on playing destiny *at* midnight of the 9th.

1 ReplyThey should have things up and running way before. That way they all make sure all systems are up and running, waiting to hit the ground running. You don't see Space Shuttles assembled right up to the T-minus 10... 9... 8... etc.

2 RepliesNo. There will be people who get the game early (you tubers and reviewers) so the servers will be up a day or two before release. If you are downloading the game as a digital copy, you won't be able to do that until 3:00 am eastern time

Well I think the servers will be up a week before for the reviewers but I don't know if bungie will shit then down again. I got the digital guardian edition and the ps store says 12 pet and other titles like plants vs zombies say 12 edt. It really sucks for east coast gamers if the servers are up before I can have access because I'm going to preload it.

Hang in a second... The servers open at 12:00 AM, that's midnight for those who don't know. So servers open at 2:00 AM CST and 3:00 AM EST. I'm sure of it.
