Is this possible? I would MUCH rather buy the game digitally on the PSstore but I don't want to wait 3 hours for it to be available to play. I asked PS support and they seem clueless and also told me that it all runs off of what the developers want, which is 12AM PST. So with that said, even if I go buy the hard copy will I be able to play at 12AM EST?
If this timezone lock is exclusive to the digital version Its almost like its a 3 hour penalty for buying digitally versus buying the hard copy which doesn't make any sense to me. Does anybody have any official answers?
ninjadragonkllr What time will the servers be open for the public in North America and worldwide? When it is September 9th somewhere in the world, and you have access to your very own version of Destiny, it will be time for you to create a character that will keep you company for a good, long time. Retailers will stick to time-zones. Our servers won’t know the difference. Retailers will break street date. Our servers won’t.
This basically says when retailers allow you access and Bungie opens the servers, both criteria must be met, you can play.

The servers will not allow ANY copy of the game (digital or disc) to access the servers until 12am PDT, unless yours is a developer copy (those are live now). So it is what it is. Sorry east coast but Bungie's over here so they are doing it as a local time midnight release.

The servers are up at 4:00AM PDT on September 8th. I don't know what time that is for EST, but I know it's before the midnight release.

Just like the Alpha, and the Beta, Bungie will more than likely have the servers up and running hours before we purchase our copies at midnight. Friends, family and team members of Bungie should be playing as they may get the game early.

There are no official answers from Bungie on any time zones besides PST, which will be online at 12:00.
