When I played on the beta (another account), I heard that the Shingen-C Auto Rifle was grossly overpowered and made the game incredibly unbalanced. Well, that's complete bullshit. Here's why it's bullshit PROBLEM 1: Damage. Tried to use it, and it would never kill the enemy fast enough. I'd fire a burst into them, but then they'd always turn around and kill me before I could finish them off. Rather than being overly damaging, its damage needs to be buffed by at least 33% if you want the gun to be even remotely fair. I even took the time to do a damage experiment with all the guns, and the Auto Rifle took the 3rd longest time to kill somebody in ideal conditions (including headshots). No idea why people were clamoring over its damage. PROBLEM 2: Accuracy It's undeniable that the accuracy is terrible. This is a fact. Compared to every other rifle, this gun has far lower accuracy. It's even more useless then it already is if you get anywhere outside of close range. Not even in between close and mid range is it effective. Engaging an enemy who has even any other type of rifle is completely impossible unless I'm within a 10 meter range of them. After that range, over 50% of my shots missed. And I'm a damn good shot in Destiny. At least make it slightly more accurate than other rifles (convert it into a mid/long range weapon) if you're gonna keep the poor damage. PROBLEM 3: Rate-of-fire It's way too high. It burns through the magazine in barely a few seconds. And combined with its sub-par accuracy and damage, that means that you're probably gonna die while reloading while the enemy you've targeted is at 25% health or so. Reduce the rate-of-fire by at least half, and you won't be spending half of the time reloading. I know that problem. I was in so many engagements where I was just sniped while finishing my reload. By god, it was terrible. PROBLEM 4: Recoil The recoil is terrible. End of story. This combined with the rate-of-fire makes the gun practically unusable. So what have we learned? We should convert the gun from a close range spray and pray type of weapon into a mid/long range battle rifle. Cause the gun in its current form is NOT going to work.
