Today's sermon was about giving money to the church. He, my pastor, talked about how you should give in good times or bad. He talked about that normally you should give 10% of the money you get to the church, but if God is being generous to you you should give more. He used 2 Corinthians 8:1-13 to prove his point. Paul was in a bad time and the people weren't passionate about giving to the church because it was a hard time for the church.
Now some of you may think this is just my church trying to get more money. That's not true, they are simply teaching about what the bible says and this is what is says.
Our lesson today was "hope through the storm". Pastor spoke about how the storm comes for believers and non-believers alike. But God makes all things work together for our good. Being a follower of Christ doesn't make us exempt from life's troubles. But being a follower of Christ means we can have hope, joy, and calm through life's storms.
