Now when we played the beta, we got to see tons of human players walk around stare at walls, get knifed by dregs, get one shotted by a certain knight in the skywatch, and wait endlessly for me to revive them while I am just interested at staring at the prettiness of the ghost deployed next to their body.
And then it hit me why I dislike human players: the amount of agency in doing things. They don't obey my every command. Some days, I just don't feel like being friendly with people, just like the weather.
What would really make things great are AI teammates based on other guardians you have.
Say you're playing Awoken Titan in blue armor. You want a buddy, but since you don't want to invite any of the creepy fellows chasing you around in the tower like it's some game of tag, you can call in a version of one of your characters with their own ship. So, then your other character, a titan in red armor and stuff is now your AI teammate that follows you around like a good obedient puppy that does your bidding.
Considering how swell the AI can be in this game, I think an AI that acts like a puppy in terms of watching your back and following you couldn't be too bad. This gives you the option to not feel alone when you're frustrated and just want to kick back and enjoy a fake co-op experience free from other people.
