*sighs* well that sounds like confirmation the servers will only go live once it hits 0:00 9/9 somewhere in the US.
English

"September 9th somewhere in the word".
-
DeeJ said it our right. At exactly 12 am PST ( meaning adjust to what your local time will be at 12 am PST ) the servers will go live. You can get that game when ever the retailers give Destiny out. BUT Until its 12am on the dot California time NO ONE is logging into Destiny till then, no matter where you live in the world. Example: 12ma PST is 3 am EST for us in the usa east coast. EST is 3 hrs ahead of Bungie ( PST ) but at 3 am EST it will be 12 am PST. Servers go live at 12 am PST on 9/9/2014, simple.
-
Where does Deej say outright it's reliant on US time?
-
No he said We don't manage the PS Store. You should ask them. Whenever you gain access to Destiny on 9/9, you can play. Can't make it clearer than that, meaning if its the 9th and you have the game you can play no matter where that 9th is
-
I didn't see any place no where did it say 12pst
-
The servers are localized. Which means that, wherever you are in the world, at 9/9 00:00, you can play.
-
-
i believe what he was saying was that as soon as 9/9 starts is Australia, or wherever it does first, the servers will be up, but retailers will not release games until their timezone hits 9/9
-
This was my official response from PS:
Welcome to the forums Thoracis! Yes, at 12 am PST, Destiny will be playable for those that have the game. If you pre-order via PS Store, you can pre-download the game on September 7th. This way, you can literally be prepared to become legend with the full game already downloaded.
Thats us mate. For us it will be 12am pdt bur eroupe is diffrent mate when it 12am kiwi time it will be live for all europe. There is nothing on my psn that says servers will be on at 12am pdt it only says release 9 sep and availble 10sep

Disagree. The comment implies servers will actiavte separately in each region of the world as midnight strikes. If a retailer breaks street date and releases to (say) US citizens a day early, the servers will know they are not in a region already playing and block them. Or something like that.

Edited by SolTrain: 8/23/2014 5:06:29 AMThe ps store (which allows you to preload the game 2 days earlier) states that servers go live at 12 pst. Maybe there are exceptions outside the U.S. (which I doubt) but if you live in the U.S. of A you'll have to wait till 12am PST for the servers to open up to the public. Then again the ps store is a retailer and that might just be how they're doing things. We'll see soon enough.
-
The Australian PS store says midnight AEST.
-
Well the PS servers refresh at 12am pst so that may be why Digital down loads won't start until 12am pst
-
I think it sounds like when the first time zone hits midnight, the servers go up. It says "When it is September 9th somewhere in the world...". They also say that retailers will release the game as each timezone hits midnight, but their servers as a whole don't care about timezones, and will be up when it becomes midnight in the first time zone. "Retailers will stick to time-zones. Our servers won’t know the difference. Retailers will break street date. Our servers won’t." Don't know about Digital though, but it's not relevant to me.

Wouldn't they have servers around the world?
-
Edited by AkiCar9599: 8/23/2014 4:10:35 AMi think what they're saying is that different countries have different servers. so aussie's get it first. but say if you're living on the east coast in USA then you get it earlier than the west coast cuz the east is ahead of the west in time.
-
Finally some one who gets it thank god I've seen so many people saying other wise but hey if that's what they want to think I say let them since I'm Eastern time I will be playing 3 hours before Cali but when I goto bed at 7am they'll still be playing

Makes sense
