"September 9th somewhere in the world".
So I guess we have to wait for it to be September 9th in the first time zone west of the International Date Line.

Edited by TeslaDoc: 8/23/2014 2:51:08 PM
No the game will be playable at midnight in your timezone
I guess we will find out. Midnight in New Zealand is 06:00 my time. Only they are one day ahead. The servers go live at midnight in New Zealand. If you need a physical copy, you can only pick it up at midnight local time. So you can only play once you have your physical copy. If you have the download version (pre-download is September 7th) then you might be able to play when the servers go live at midnight in New Zealand. I'm getting up early just in case.

Here's what he meant: Servers activate midnight Pacific Standard time. Stores open midnight local time, so you'll have to make your guardian and hang out with it offline while waiting for the servers to go up, since the servers don't k now the time differences between locations. It's told to activate at 12:00 am pacific, and it will do just that
-
Hahahajaha. Ohhhhhhh that's what he "meant". Glad you talked with him. Yeah that makes more sense for New Zealand and Australian and England gamers that they will be able to "make a character and then hang out until servers open " ......yep just hangout waiting 9-15 or more hours. Sure .....right .....yeah..... Ummmmm can't wait to see that happen and the rage. Guess YOU will find out sept 9 if you see New Zealand , Australian and England gamers on twitch playing Destiny before you. Or you could just ask Deej since you know him.
-
Also, you're quite the dumbass, assuming that I claim to know someone just by interpreting a couple sentences of a post.
-
Yes I am a "dumbass" because I go on the forums and interpret the things Deej says for him. I read Deej's post:
When it is September 9th somewhere in the world, and you have access to your very own version of Destiny, it will be time for you to create a character that will keep you company for a good, long time. Retailers will stick to time-zones. Our servers won’t know the difference. Retailers will break street date. Our servers won’t.
Then I go the Internet and say:
Here's what he meant: Servers activate midnight Pacific Standard time. Stores open midnight local time, so you'll have to make your guardian and hang out with it offline while waiting for the servers to go up, since the servers don't k now the time differences between locations. It's told to activate at 12:00 am pacific, and it will do just that
"HERES WHAT HE MEANT" because YOU KNOW WHAT HE MEANT Please tell us all HOW YOU KNOW WHAT Deej MEANT ?? LMAO
-
Hey, it doesn't affect me at all. I just don't wanna get your hopes up, only to have them crushed. I'm going to sleep that night and pick it up in the morning myself, so who ends up picking it up first really isn't important. May the Traveler's light shine in your temporal favor.

Edited by ashdelete: 8/23/2014 11:01:06 AMNo, what he said was that the servers will go live as soon as it is midnight anywhere in the world. It will be midnight in New Zealand 17 hours before midnight PST. It amazes me that you interpreted 'the world' to mean 'America'

" When it is September 9th somewhere in the world, and you have access to your very own version of Destiny, it will be time for you to create a character that will keep you company for a good, long time." At no point does it say you get to play. He's referring to when you are able to pick up you'd disk.
-
Don't worry I will let you know sept 9th. IF anyone starts playing on sept 9th BEFORE Midnight Pacific time when you are certain the servers will turn on I will send you a nice message and a link.
-
I look forward to it.

Edited by ashdelete: 8/23/2014 12:27:52 PM" When it is September 9th somewhere in the world, and you have access to your very own version of Destiny, it will be time for you to create a character " The quote literally says that when it's september 9th in new zealand, and you are able to pick up a disk/download a copy, then you will be able to log in and start playing. Where have all these crazy conclusions about pacific time come from? The game will be released in stores at midnight local time but pre-loading of the digital version begins on the 7th. So if you go digital then as soon as the servers go online, you can start playing (That's what he meant by 'our servers won't know the difference').

Edited by Patrickosan: 8/23/2014 8:36:51 AMThis goes for the whole world? So if I live in Europe (+1 GMT) I have to wait until 9:00 am in the morning of 9 september? I never saw if they said anything about separte servers for USA or EU.
-
No, you still have to wait till midnight to buy a disc from local retailers, but the servers will be active from 1 in the afternoon for GMT+1, so if you have a digital version ready to go then you can play from 1 o'clock
-
No itll be playable midnight your timezone
-
Edited by TeslaDoc: 8/23/2014 3:00:00 PMI doubt it. We get the digital pre-download on September 7th. The servers will be on and the game will be loaded on our consoles. If you need the physical copy you need to wait until your retailers open at midnight local time.
-
I hope so :)
-
They never specified, but I'm fairly certain (I'll give it 90 percent certainty) that the servers are all controlled from Bungie Studios, regardless of their geographic location.
-
It would be nice to know where they have servers for specific region. I really doubt that people from EU are connecting throgh US servers. I didn't have any problem during alpha or beta, maybe some little lags in PVP, but all my friends had it.
