" When it is September 9th somewhere in the world, and you have access to your very own version of Destiny, it will be time for you to create a character that will keep you company for a good, long time."
At no point does it say you get to play. He's referring to when you are able to pick up you'd disk.

Edited by ashdelete: 8/23/2014 12:27:52 PM" When it is September 9th somewhere in the world, and you have access to your very own version of Destiny, it will be time for you to create a character " The quote literally says that when it's september 9th in new zealand, and you are able to pick up a disk/download a copy, then you will be able to log in and start playing. Where have all these crazy conclusions about pacific time come from? The game will be released in stores at midnight local time but pre-loading of the digital version begins on the 7th. So if you go digital then as soon as the servers go online, you can start playing (That's what he meant by 'our servers won't know the difference').
