You shouldn't have a problem finding time to play after about the second week of A school. Just study what your learning first and make sure you get enough sleep to be at any assigned duty on time and awake. Also common booter mistake is to over spend and buy big ass TV or pricey cars. Wait on those until you get to your first duty station and see what your actually making vs spending to live where ever you are stationed. Also depending on first posting you might not be able to take any of it with you. Good luck and thanks for your service brother.

  • PS4 should be alright almost anywhere. It's the 50 and 60 inch TV you see guys buying and then selling right before they leave, cause they can't take it to their first real duty station. Keep it reasonable pick up something in the 20 inch range, then if you can't take it to next command you can atleast ship it back to mom's place cheap and aren't out $1200 + dollars by selling your $2400 dollar 3 month old tv for half price.

  • Alright sweet well my wife should be going with me to my first duty station if I'm not stationed in a war zone of course. So if I were to be dumb and buy a big tv would I still be able to take it then? Seeing how I won't be staying in the barracks

  • So married, then yah even if you deploy overseas you should atleast attach to a parent command first. Either conus (state side) or oconus (anywhere outside continental US not in war zone) before you deployed in country. So wife would get opportunity to set up shop in base housing or on the economy. Under these circumstances won't really matter. There are still a handful geo-bachlor billets out there, one year tours, isolated duty. Also it's the barracks for schools generally unless a school is at or over one year, usually gov won't pay to bring the wife to you. Basically in the barracks keep it small and tight again 20 inch range. I actually dinked a couple of guys during inspections based on electronics. To big crowded the room, just didn't look tight and organized. Also you are going to have roommates so that means people in the room when your not and possible damage or theft. I have also dinked guys for doors open or not properly locked during a roving patrol and nobody inside. Again, you shouldn't have a problem finding time to play after you get settled into the training command. I just commented on some of the problems I have seen from when I went through A school, and when I have gone back through training commands.
