Everytime something launches there is always a retailer that releases early. Most claim accident or lack of attention to detail. Most stores will have the game in the back storage around 3 to 5 days before the release.
So breaking street date is... store receive new shipment on the 3rd. Employees log the shipment and start putting product out on shelf. By pure accident store stocks shelf with Destiny on the 5th...store just broke street date by 4 days. Also online companies break street date fairly often, they will ship with plenty of time for arrival by the 9th, no doubt we will see post that Bob got his ghost edition on the 6th or the 7th, through the mail.
