Not like we are asking a huge time commitment of Bungie to create Destiny and the raids within Destiny or anything. Raids are said to take 3-4 hours. Take into account they are on a weekly reset. There are 168 hours in a week. If you work the standard 40 hours per week, that leaves 128. Factor in 8 hours a day for sleep, 72 hours remain. Leave room for misc activities (example: 4 hours per day) such as family, gf, friends, getting to and from work, eating, bathroom etc...44 hours remain in your week. 44 hours to find friends/randoms for 3-4 hours of total content...kudos to Bungie for not promoting laziness with matchmaking. Before you respond, this is a generic work week example, not tailored specifically to any one person. There will be other factors in your personal life, some of which you should be prioritizing over completing a raid in a game anyway. I somehow doubt you are too busy of a human to take 10 minutes out of your week to find someone to play with in a game where over 4 million people played the Beta alone. Also if anyone is a stickler for details, I'm not a math professor, so feel free to politely correct anything I've said and I will make the edit.

  • That first point is irrelevant because bungie is being payed for their hard work, the community is not. The problem with randoms is finding something who has an identical schedule and is able to play at the same time you are. I don't like how bungie requires you set aside time that has to work for 6 people rather than just pick up and play. Destiny is a casual game so I find it hard to understand why they are making raids with a barrier for casuals to play. Seems contradictory to what bungie is.

  • Your entire thought process is irrelevant. Bungie has made it clear how difficult the raids are and their reasons for not implementing matchmaking. Their game has not yet released, if you don't like that factor of the game then either find a different game mode or don't buy the game. It's purely as simple as that. Bungie is giving you all the tools you need to find people with a similar schedule to you. Finding 6 people is absolutely laughable in comparison to other team based raiding. It's 3-4 hours a week. Find 6 people with 30-45 minutes of matching availability and knock out a raid over the course of 7 days. Find 6 people with 1 hour of matching availability and knock it out in 3-4 days. Find 6 people with 3-4 hours of matching availability and knock it out in one sitting. "Destiny is a casual game" Says...you? Destiny is a game made with absolutely everyone in mind, including casuals and hardcore gamers. They have a game mode for every play style. Raids were made with the truly legendary in mind. If you wish to participate in that feature, then you have to perform some form of effort. And it pains me to call posting on a forum for someone to raid with "effort". Bottom line is, if you want to raid in Destiny, you will have to work for it. And id advise you to create your own game to implement features you want, but that would require real effort and, let's face it, you have already shown you don't want to work for anything.
