In his defense, Minecraft doesn't have massive hordes trying to gun you down while you're riding through the world or the possibility of accidentally running into a public event during a race. A dedicated mode would help avoid these things. It's the same idea as the dedicated PVP. In fact, it could be a special event that occurs every so often, since that mechanic is already in the game. Anyway, just my opinion.
