So I just learnt that in addition to Bungie restricting three full sets of armour, two weapons, three vehicles, an entire multiplayer map and an entire -blam!-ing mission (in which Destiny is in desperate need of) to a single platform, they are also locking away exclusive content in the DLC as well... this is just ridiculous and unacceptable! So, let me get this straight, if you're not playing on Playstation, not only will you not get the entirety of the game after paying full price, you won't even get the entirety of the DLC after paying full price for it either? Any chance of me purchasing Destiny has quickly evaporated.
The more I learn about Destiny, the less I care about it, and the more I learn to despise Bungie. Every single Weekly Update--including this one--is filled with damage control and/ or Deej--or Urk--trying to spin some bullshit on the 7C due to lack of features in Destiny, or to circumvent disappointment. Bungie is now very insidious, which is a far cry from what I would have said about them during the Halo era. I mean, come on, I know that you guys are gonna give me hate (again), but do you honestly not see how bullshit some of this stuff is? Hell, I'm even talking to Playstation fans, while you guys aren't being negatively affected by this as much as Xbox fans are, can you not see that some of the promises are quickly starting to form into blatant lies?
Some of you are going to pass this off as trolling because of how vocal I am about my disappointment, but I really am finding it hard to believe that I am the only one who can see this...
To everyone who is calling me an Xbot, bashing the Xbox One, telling me that I don't like Destiny because I suck at it, or are just hurling tactless insults, congratulations in being a shining example of what I have to look forward to if I ever do decide to play Destiny. The 7C is now a festering cesspit. The original members who operate under the bounds of logic and reason are in the decline or are just overshadowed by the incredible number of idiots; for every reasonable comment--in which I respect greatly--there are two moronic ones.
If you're reading this and are one of the members of the community who had a reasonable discussion with me, I thank you. You give me hope that the 7C and gaming as a whole aren't doomed.
Edit: I will not be replying from here on out. My endeavour to voice my concerns and outrage was successful from the moment that I clicked 'post'. I have no intentions of arguing with anyone in the comments section below.

^^^ exactly the type of comment I new I would find within the first few replies... This guys just expressing his opinion so respect it.
-
And my comment had zero implication that I was undermining his views. Hes mad that his experience on destiny for xbox wont be as great. And im saying ok. Then play destiny on the PS4. It was common knowledge that destiny had exclusives for ps4 way before the content for ps4 was released.
-
I agree that we all knew about the content but this person sounds to be a little younger and may be unable to run out and purchase a $425.00 PS4 and a destiny game priced at roughly $63.60, those are figured with the sales tax for my area I live in so right there he's paying roughly $488.60 plus he will need another $60.00 for playstation plus to play destiny online so that gives u a grand total of roughly $548.00 US. That's a lot of money even for your average adult to pay out let alone expecting a kid to come up with.
-
And im expressing mine... so respect it.
-
Then dont have an xbox.. xbox has the upper hand on COD and now destiny is PS4s upper hand. Buy a ps4.
-
Is cuz ur a pussy troll. All you have done has driven me to play more. With one less of you around means a better life of gaming for me and the none crybaby pussies that deserve to play with their dildos all day long. Btw still winning

So as not to antagonize or nit-pick. I'll say this...you have valid points to be sure. Aside from the exclusive content, which does suck, and I say that as a PS4 player, the rest of your complaints might not be set in stone. I have experience in the industry, and things change very rapidly with online MMO titles. What is exclusive today probably has a timer on it to become available to all in the future. The best advice I can give is to keep an open mind. You're this passionate about the product for some reason, probably you're a big halo fan. Well that is a result of bungie making quality entertainment you love and have a lot of passion for. I think you should bite the bullet and give bungie a chance. I don't think they have let you down in the past and they are trying something very new here, outside their normal wheelhouse. Things will change, game companies have to respond and pivot quickly in order to satisfy the demands of its player base, and in this case their obligations to Activision as well. There are a lot of games out there and players move from title to title quickly. I have confidence in Bungie as a team, that is the main reason I chose to buy the game. Not because of what the game is on 9/9...but because of it will be as time goes on.
-
It's not an MMO
-
The definition of MMO would disagree with you.
-
Lol this made me laugh so hard
-
Well bungie would disagree with u. According to Bungie their game is not an MMO and that's good enough for me
-
they just don't want to use that term, the reason why is businesses find MMO's a bad investment cause aside from the few like World of Warcraft they usually fail so Officially its "not" an MMO but it is. But your entitled to your opinion so if you don't agree thats fine.
-
If that's good enough for you then no need for you to reply further. Not sure why you bothered in the first place. Its bungies game and they can call it whatever they want. But bottom line is that this game has all the common elements of an MMO by standard definitions. And they will certainly run the game like an MMO. Which was my point above, that things will change and the game itself will evolve over time.

You're just a fallen scum.

All you whiny fan boys can go pound sand the Xbone is an inferior console run by corporate pigs why should Bungie agree with their business practices and give them all the content that they aren't willing to fork money out for. Do you idiots even realize its your precious Microsoft that won't shell out the few extra dollars and that it is their inability to compromise with Bungie and Activision that has led to this state of affairs? I sincerely hope Xbones sell so bad compared to PS4's that by the time Destiny two rolls out it can go PS EXCLUSIVE. Clearly a vast majority of xbox gamers are whiny unappreciative -blam!-s who can't comprehend big business in gaming so who cares about that aspect of the demographic. Activision that's who and you better thank them up and down if you're an Xbox gamer because they are probably the only reason Destiny isn't PS EXCLUSIVE.

Hell yeah

Edited by Capt Explodabob: 8/26/2014 6:49:58 AMI know I said that I wouldn't reply any more, but this comment is just so laughably stupid that I have to. You're literally painting Bungie to look like a bunch of common whores. What you're saying is that Bungie are so cheap that they're withholding content from a game, content that should a part to the final game, just to see who they can get the most money out of... and it just so happens that Sony was in the mood to support this shitty ideology? You know what is bad for business, and just so happens to be the number one thing every company tries to circumvent? I'll tell you: Pissing off the customer. I fail to see how I'm being ungrateful by expressing my displeasure with a simply shitty business practice. What I would see to be ungrateful is denying long-time Bungie fans access to their final game while still charging said fans full-price for what is essentially an incomplete game. I just have to say real quick that I love the typical Sony fanboy response to everything. I actually tried to keep the conversation civil, and actually stated that I have nothing against Sony, but you Sony Ponies always have to roll in and ruin that, don't you? Trust you to write something as crazed as, "I sincerely hope Xbones sell so bad compared to PS4's that by the time Destiny two rolls out it can go PS EXCLUSIVE". Not only is that already impossible, but the fact that you express such hatred towards a company is telling of your mentality. You say that you don't support Microsoft's practices? So how can you justify supporting Sony? The irony and sheer hypocrisy is palpable. There is no end to the delusions of a crazed Sony zealot.

Edited by Bruuntuun: 8/27/2014 4:47:56 PMI thought a lot of the exclusive content was only TIMED EXCLUSIVE. I thought DattoDoesDestiny did a video that somewhat explained that there will be exclusive content for the PS4 but he shows the asterisk that explains it as TIMED. I could be totally wrong and off topic but I wouldn't think we would be completely locked away from a part of the game forever. And if we are it is really Microsoft that needs to figure it out. EDIT: So a year without access to the exclusive content is a bit much but I still think it will be minor in terms of end game content. In other words, the exclusive content won't make or break the experience before max level. Exclusive content is always a gimmick. PS4 has been really well marketed this time around and Microsoft is the reason for these differences, not Bungie.

We are whiney because it just sucks. I'm not here to do any whining but we just feel let down. The fact that you guys get so much just becuase you have a different console is disheartening for those of us that cannot afford to switch or purchase both. I myself would also not switch because it is weird for me to play a playstation. The controls, user interface, everything. I am just not used to it (and because of my gamerscore on xbox, took me years to get almost 50,000 and i only got xbox live about a year and a half ago) And that makes me sad because i want everything Destiny has to offer, but i cannot have it. I blame marketing and large corporations...

I agree

Just need to change your pronoun use. Its should be I and me, and not we and us. There is nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, but it is your opinion not necessarily our opinion. I'm a total Destiny fanboy I guess. I have enjoyed every Bungie game I've played. And could have played the beta for a few weeks and still enjoy it. I will be playing on the Xbox One. Was I disappointed that Sony has some timed exclusives? Yeah a little I suppose. But does it matter in the slightest? NO! Destiny is totally going to rock! I support whatever Bungie's plans are. Its 2 weeks away. Time to stop speculating, and prepare ourselves. Either Destiny is your cup of tea or isn't. To all my fellow Guardians that are as stoked as I am to play, its almost time:). And to all who can't just have faith in Bungie, let it go. Go find a game you can truly love. Cause why play a game at all if it isn't fun for you?

And...?
-
Here lately you have to really listen to how Bungie words things. Like when they showed the closed door demo saying that the geometry the player saw was playable space that they "one day hope to send you to". They're very cryptic and vague about many aspects of Destiny and several devs have made statements that directly contradict each other. Hopefully it gets the sales and support it needs to evolve into what they envision, if they even know what it is. Just have to wait and see what we get on 9/9.

I agree these reasons do hold weight, enough to complain to bungie for sure, but why are thet enough to not buy this great game? Did you ever play any halo games? I've played them all since halo 2, and in all of them I spent the most time on multiplayer. I would play through the campaigns at least twice, and although the story for the campaigns for them are really interesting, they are pretty linear and don't take too much time compared to the time you can spend having fun on multiplayer. The way I see destiny is the story is about aliens and space and it is an fps, just like halo. The multiplayer has a fresh feeling to it, but at the core it feels almost like halo(which is great). So on this multiplayer I can spend hours just like I did on halos multiplayer. But instead of a normal sized campaign mode with a liner set of missions, destiny has these sweet open world maps where just roaming around and discovering places is interesting. you can do main missions, strike missions, raids, and random events. You can gather cool rare guns and armor to show off in your multiplayer experience. So if you were at any point a fan of bungies past games you will definitely enjoy this one, because it is a fresh start in multiplayer and adds a huge amount of content and variety to campaign mode compared to halo. Yeah its a bummer that xbox doesn't get the strike mission or multiplayer map and if I was on Xbox I would feel jipped too. But I would no doubt be buying the game, because it is an enormous step up from the halo games. If they promise stuff that doesn't happen, then we can definitely complain as you did. but when this game only has more content than halos had, I don't see the point in not purchasing it. Although, if you don't like halo, open world fps games, or arena multiplayer, then this game might not be for you. Though if you had never liked halo or bungie, there would be no point in being in these forums haha
