Honestly in a game like this, the dumbest idea in the world is not allowing item trades, at least it should be allowed in some form. Maybe have it where you can only trade items with someone who was in your fireteam when the item was dropped and only for a limited time, or maybe only someone who is in your clan, or on your friends list. There are plenty of ways to do it legitimately, I know if i am running with a scout rifle and my brother is running with an autorifle and a rare autorifle drops for me and a scout for him, thats some serious lame stuff when we cant swap em.

Trading is a bad idea. You will have the same opportunity to earn the same legendary and exotic gear as everybody else. They are intended to be rewards for accomplishing certain tasks. I don't think you'll have a problem finding the type of weapon you want, you just have to be skilled enough to get it. ....... It'll be fun

So, you see a good piece of loot. You have to find out how to get it yourself. Not just be like "Hey, I want that, let's trade." Really, get your loot, and you wonder why some games have no longevity...

this game presents itself as an MMORPGFPS yet it completely lacks a core interaction system with other players other than pvp and the strikes where you are silently forced to work with people. I am sure someone like you is such an 'experienced' grinder that you sure know how easy it is to get good weapons of the specific type you use. Hell during the beta whenever me and my bro ran together i could not get a single Scout rifle to drop that was of any quality, yet my brother managed to get not one, not two, three identical scout rifles, how in any way shape or form does it not make sense if he doesnt want the item to pass it over to someone who does? i worked just as hard as he did yet because i happened to be unluckier i should just never use scout rifles unless they are direct mission rewards?

Well then you've got the wrong idea, you just can't expect it to be easy like that. You need to earn your loot in Destiny. If your friend has duplicated or unneeded items, he can dismantle them. If he has a cool exotic but it's not as good as his other one, then he can store it. It's not about getting a gin from a friend, it's about working alone or together to get loot like that.

Thats what i said but all this people think that then all the people will have great armor all the youtubers with the best armor is not about them is about you amd your friends they are very competitive

No fun at all if you ask me. Plus who wants to be handed everything. Dude starts game new, gets a full set of legendary gear from a buddy who has stuff sitting in the locker. No thanks

If they had it so there was a limited time, every item would have a time limit on it, which would be horrible. Having it so only people in your fireteam can trade for it is ridiculous as well, because you could just join a fireteam with a low level character in a higher level place and get them free gear. That's game breaking. And if you didn't want to trade straight away, the game would have to remember who was in your fireteam for every item drop as well, which would be hard to keep track in an mmo (where you should be getting frequent drops in a mission.)

As i said to the above poster "Maybe have it where you can only trade items with someone who was in your fireteam when the item was dropped and only for a limited time" there is no room for abuse if the person was working with you in the fire team at the same time the item dropped.

In the past Trading gear/weapons leads to $$ involved and people hack items to sell for $$. And these people will bring these weapons or gear to fight Novel Guardians.. it's a sad thing but it's always an issue.

thats why my first suggestion works so well "Maybe have it where you can only trade items with someone who was in your fireteam when the item was dropped and only for a limited time" you cant exactly sell those for money now can you if the person has to be there in the fireteam to get a chance at the item.

if you fight a boss and he drops loot or you do an event or do something very rewarding together, if the reward is an exotic or a legendary, you will both get it, so yeah. it's not like you will fight for the same gun if the boss drops it, you will both get it, and plus all the guns are great, and I f you even get an exotic whatever I would use it, I wouldn't be chosee about it.

Completely disagree, the no trade is great . It will keep the game from getting broken and makes the weapon you have in your hand much more your own. Something that was earned and fought for and also just because you use a certain weapon now won't mean that you may switch it up later so take the rare loot you find stick it in your vault and one day you will be happy it's there when you need it

That idea is great once you are max level but what about when you and your friends are lvl 6 and you get a weapon from a boss that they need and they get the weapon type you use? you arent going to save a lvl 6-8 weapon til later at that point, allowing trade temporarily for the people present when the item dropped in your fireteam is a great solution to that.
