I heard there is a 2nd DDos attack on the Playstation Network. So is the Playstation Network shutdown because that's the feeling I'm getting from Twitter. I can't say I didn't see this coming. PS3 had a major problem like this except that was more then 2 weeks without the Playstation Network. All my friends went to Xbox 360 after that. It seems like it's happening again. One of the comments on YouTube said that Sony uses one mega server while Microsoft has multiple servers across the world. The Lizard Squad (hacker group) tried attacking XBL and I felt no difference. I played GTA Online on my Xbox 360 and it was the same. I used my Xbox One to play Titanfall, watch TV and use Netflix and everything was fine too. I find it to be weird that PSN gets taken down by hackers before WiiU/Wii. What's the point of charging people $60.00 a year if it's not for security. I'll take security over free ok games and special deals any day. Let me know if you have any problems with XBL. I want to see if the Media is trying to put a spin on the DDos attack so Sony doesn't look bad. Keep the console war crap out of it please.

I'm sorry you feel like you need to belittle someone to make you feel better. I don't know what kind of mental gymnastics you are doing in your head but when I can literally point out your contradictions in your own posts and than say that I'm the one fighting an up hill battle ... I mean like wow. One big difference from you and I is when someone points out something I did as wrong with facts I learn from it and move on and correct myself . Honestly you mentioned the attack on the ps3 network and than said right after that it looks like it's happening again and that you scrutinize Sony for charging 60 dollars a year for a service that isn't secure , when in fact it is at the moment of this post . Using my own insult against me, calling everybody else idiots for listening to me and you insult me because I expected the same amount of security on PS4 because I'll be charged $60.00 a year just like what Microsoft does and many other antivirus software on PC. If you actually read the comments instead of skimming them you would see that PS3 security was compromised and people did lose personal information. When did I say PS4 players were losing personal information? You just said I heard you mentioned security and went directly to calling what I said Propaganda. You mentioned security, well the network is secure it didn't affect anyone's personal information. All it did was over load the server, your trying to make this out to be something that it isn't no one's security was breached stop spreading propaganda please

Now remember xbox has A LOT more experience to online due to several ppl (Bungie obviously being one) and also has had great and superior live since the first gen Xbox and Ps not so much, I too thought their live has been improved significantly since they are charging but as it turns out it hasn't (YET anyway. I also have a xbone and I have no troubles at all with live either)

The good news is to ease your apprehension somewhat is the attack is not on the networks themselves but rather upstream at internet pinch points where traffic is directed to sights. This was done by enlisting many thousands of remotely accessible computers and overwhelming the sight by trying to access it all at once. Seems this is not just isolated to psn, as blizzard, microsoft, xbl and other gaming sights are effected in varying degrees of service delays or outage. Xbl reporting party chat and diablo3 game unaccessible but core services still running. Apparently they went after psn and blizzard entertainment first and then tried others but word got out of attacks so other network services were able to start taking measures to avoid complete disrruption. Group is claiming they part of isis and isil and is a retaliatory strike for bombings of these groups in iraq by us and nato forces.

They defiantly deserve time in jail regardless. Thank you for letting me know what small problem with XBL everybody on YouTube was talking about. A channel called, "The Know" made it seem like it was a massive hit to XBL and we were still recovering. Unfortunately, the Lizard Squad is using the, "Ice Bucket Challenge" as a distraction as they reek havoc. I hope justice will be served.

Well the good news is it not "hacks" to networks rather just disruption of servuce attacks. The fact they went after 5 major companies and made an official claim of a bomb threat now has prompted nsa and fbi to investigate. Many say they can consider it a terroist attack wether it just a prank or not. Having said that does explain why fbi is rather quite about these attacks and so called threats. If they are just trolling they may have made a rather flawed descision to taunt the fbi and nsa.

Plus why would terrorist use the tag "PC MASTERACE". Their a bunch of pissed off jerks. I agree with the message ..."Sony, Microsoft, Blizzard, ect charges too much money for services..." Was taking down the network a way to punish the big companies? The answer is a resounding NO. They should have went after COMPANY money, not my personal info. Hit THEM where it hurts, not me.

Truthfully we wont know the entire story, but I agree a simple ddos attack to gaming network sights would not seem to be an interest of a militant faction. My opinion is someone or group riding the coat tails of attention being brought in news about isis as it is the current chaoctic group making a name for itself. Imo, whomever is doing it, they feel untouchable and garner a need for public attention to foster their lack of self esteem. The funny thing is they claim fbi and nsa cannot do anything to them because of quote "zero physical evidence." The nsa and fbi does not need actual physical evidence when a terriositic threat has been made. All they managed to do is put themselves under their target sights, which honestly who knows, maybe they want to be arrested for the notirighty.

I don't see how you can say it didn't affect xbox when it did just Google it . It's true it affected Sony worse why they attacked Sony the hardest out of the many others they attacked no one knows they even reported a bomb on one of Sonys plane that had a Sony vip on it sounds pretty personal. Also no one Is safe from a ddos it doesn't matter about security or the servers look up what a ddos actually is and you will see that enough people want to do it for lols they can very easily I wouldn't recommend it since they give you 15 years in prison for it

It doesn't matter how your servers are built if you ddos a server with enough people it will crash any server . It did affect xbox live they were down also so was blizzard league of legends eve online and other games

It didn't affect xbox. I have been able to play every day without issue. Only the PSN went down.
