I find it so interesting how strong of friendships and communal bonds can be made from playing games with friends and strangers alike. I was wondering where everyone's origins came from in terms of gaming. For me, my first game was Altered Beast on the Sega Master system. My dad picked this up for me in the 80s when I was only 4. We kicked ass together and it was pretty graphic for a 4 year old to play. Punching and kicking zombies and beasts that exploded into pieces lol It was rereleased on the Sega Genesis (which I still own). It's still a lot of fun to play today too.
So what is everyone's story here?

Does PC count? My dad had an old DOS machine with doom and wolf 3d. I was about 3 years old? And my parents played Mario, so SNES was my first. God bless both of them

Edited by IMAGE NOT FOUND: 4/4/2015 9:05:54 PMMy first gaming system was the steam-powered Arkwright-Barnstaple Phantasmogorical Electro-Magic Lantern Projector It was powered by 2 household servants who would need to rotate a crank repeatedly, which in turn ignited a spark that lit up an electric phosphor screen, upon which a series of "moving" still photographs of the upper classes playing croquet were projected 100 years later, this Victorian invention formed the basis of the original Xbox

I had an Atari 2600 in the house, but my elder half-siblings played it more than I did. I can't remember if the SMS or the NES was the first system I really mine. I remember that I had a SMS at home and there was a NES at my grandma's house. My friends always gave me crap for having a SMS. Honestly I think the SMS was a better console, but most of the games were pretty lame. Being born in the '70s and growing up in the '80s, I was initially more interested in physical toys than video games until I was about 10 or so. That and dirt, dirt was freaking awesome. It was everywhere and free.

Started: PS2/OG Xbox Favourite games of the time: Pac-Man World, Halo, King Kong the Video Game, some Indiana Jones game, LEGO Star Wars, Half-Life... After that we got a PS3, another amazing system. There I started playing LittleBigPlanet, Bioshock and many other awesome games. Not long after we got a Nintendo DS and a PSP, however we lost the PSP so it was just the DS. Started playing Plants Vs Zombies, went back to the OG Sonic the Hedgehog and a lot of others. It wasn't until around 2010-2011 I actually got an Xbox 360, so I had to play Halo 3 at my uncles house all the time. I could tell more but I'm playing game right now so I might add on later...

Sega genesis- vectorman. It was the only game I owned on that system. I got a Psone afterwards and played crash bandicoot. And believe it or not. I never played a sonic game. I played mk2 in the genesis and even Mrs. Pacman on the Genesis(borrowed those 2)
