I find it so interesting how strong of friendships and communal bonds can be made from playing games with friends and strangers alike. I was wondering where everyone's origins came from in terms of gaming. For me, my first game was Altered Beast on the Sega Master system. My dad picked this up for me in the 80s when I was only 4. We kicked ass together and it was pretty graphic for a 4 year old to play. Punching and kicking zombies and beasts that exploded into pieces lol It was rereleased on the Sega Genesis (which I still own). It's still a lot of fun to play today too.
So what is everyone's story here?

First system was technically PC, played the crap outta Wolfenstein 3D. I was around 5 years old I think. Then my parents got me a PS1, played Medal of Honor all the time. Then my Grandfather introduced me to Xbox with Halo CE, haven't looked back since.

Edited by KADE13: 8/27/2014 4:41:09 PMI played the NES as a kid but I remember the genesis and SNES war more as a kid. (Sega all the way) my first console I bought was the dreamcast. Now that was the best system ever and I was so pissed that freaking PS2 put it out of business >:I For a awhile I had a small prejudges against playstation and because of that when Xbox came out I went that direction and fell in love with halo. Now I own the original xbox, 360, and soon the xbone. ( I also have a PS3 cause the have some games that I though were cool) NES>Genesis>Dreamcast>Xbox>360 and ps3>soon I'll have xbox one

Then there was tank battle and air command..then the atari 2600 the 5200,colleco vision, intellevision, the sega dreamcast, sega genesis, the jaguar, the neo-geo, the playstation 1 and 2 and then xbox, xbox 360, xbox one. Those are all the systems i have owned and played. Going back there was a dungeon type text only ansi game i played on a tandy 1000. Heck I even ran a local BBS before the Internet.....lol thats a ton being that i am only 18 years old.......cough cough.

Our family had the had the original Magnavok Odyssey as our first console, but that was a little before I was Born. For me my first console was Bally Astrocade. I can not remember the name of the first game I played on it though. We also had the Intellivision shortly after that and the Coleco Vision after that. But I remember playing the Coleco Vision more than the Bally and Intellivision as I was a little older then. I have played many of the Earlier Consoles over the years. But as for what we owned and what I played first it would be those three that come to mind. Even though I have tried some of the even earlier ones when I was a little older I can safely say that my real first console was the Bally then the Intellivision and then the Coleco Vision. I did not try to Atari 2600 until after those three. We sort of choose the ones that did not become as popular. Sort of like how we bought the Beta first over the VHS and even the old LaserDisc Player if you can remember them. :) ROFL Thinking back on all the older consoles makes me feel old. :)
