I find it so interesting how strong of friendships and communal bonds can be made from playing games with friends and strangers alike. I was wondering where everyone's origins came from in terms of gaming. For me, my first game was Altered Beast on the Sega Master system. My dad picked this up for me in the 80s when I was only 4. We kicked ass together and it was pretty graphic for a 4 year old to play. Punching and kicking zombies and beasts that exploded into pieces lol It was rereleased on the Sega Genesis (which I still own). It's still a lot of fun to play today too.
So what is everyone's story here?

Sega genesis.... Brutal: Paws of fury god that game pissed me off so much!!!!!
-
Sega, Star Wars episode 1 Racer! and Sonic: The Hedgehog. I was on the 3rd grade, and my grandpa was visiting us in PR from NY. When I came home from school, he was blocking the TV, he moved and yell: "¡SORPRESA!" and there it was, my first console and games, and that was my very first time playing video games!

I've been gaming a long time. Idk if it was my 1st game but the 1st one I remember and loved was on Intellivision called Dungeons & Dragons. It was great. The green wall and blue doors. I have to kill the purple minotaur!!!!!
-
Started gaming near 2005, played every console there is to play. Sadly, not every game due to phobias, time, money, etc.
-
Either the Sega Genesis or the Super NES. Tough remembering which game was first i played on them, it was probably Sonic 1 on the Genesis and either Super Mario Kart or DK country on the SNES.
-
I'm going to say the first NES system was my official first console because I was like 3-4 years old playing Atari games not knowing exactly what I was doing. So Mario and Duck Hunt groomed me into the gamer I am today.
-
Atari 2600 - Frogger My mom put me in front of the tv with a video game controller when I was 3. I haven't stopped since.
-
Atari 2600... Favorite games were Pac-Man (even though it was the same board over and over) Missile Command Combat :)

Edited by Orca: 8/26/2014 11:15:03 PMI remember the atari 2600 when u was little. But my fondest memories of a system was the virtual boy and Mario tennis. As you can see this is why my eyes sight has been declining.

Intelevision. The Deadly Disks of Tron.

For all the people that say violent video games are destroying kids and making them violent in schools and at home, I am a prime example of how that is an extremely false statement.
-
SNES - Super Mario Bros.
-
First system was Atari with Pacman that I inherited from a cousin. Shortly after was the Genesis with Sonic the Hedgehog. And to this day that cartridge system runs with no issues. If the game doesn't work, blow in the cartridge and system. Problem solved.
-
Nintendo GameCube Mario cart double dash those were the days

First started gaming on a Sega Megadrive. First game was sonic

I remember having a commodore 64 when i was a kid but can't remember the games i would have played. So i'll go with either sonic, fantasy zone or that light gun game with the bloke on the train tracks on the master system.
