US Mil Veteran Assaulted By Group of 20, Because He is White

Source 1 Source 2
Weems, a Marine and Iraq war veteran, and another man were attacked in a Huddle House restaurant parking lot by up to 20 people. Police say that McMillian and others may have assaulted the victim because he was white. Weems says he was warned by African American patrons at the restaurant, that the place was not safe for white people, because of anger over the police shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.
Article reports that a former US Marine and his friend were assaulted by a mob of over 20 people. Before entering a restaurant he was warned that it 'is not safe for white people', and after getting into an argument in the restaurant, he left for another place to eat where he was followed and assaulted. I heard reported on the tele that he is in need of brain surgery. No word on his friend. Still looking for an internet source declaring his need for a brain operation. Edit: Source 2 indicates a need for a brain operation for Weems, and that his friend suffers from broken bones. It also says his friend is a USAF veteran.

 •
Knighten and Weems decided to try Huddle House nearby, in spite of a nearly vacant parking lot a few minutes after 1 A.M.
While this is a tragedy, having an altercation then going to another restaurant that is nearby and that is nearly empty in the middle of the night isn't smart. It's like walking through every sketchy back alley in a city at 2 am expecting to get home safely.
