• What you just said is besides the point, the idea that you feel you, along with everyone would not blam someone due to dress. Is entirely disconnected from the sentiment that many people (including women) believe that do in face point towards sexual assault as a consequence of "slutty dress." Main idea of why I disagree
The idea here is not hypocrisy, there is not an action in the world tied to the way you act or look that trumps your wants and needs behind your concept of free will. That applies to sexual assault of verbal abuse. Have you been cat called? I have walked with my girlfriend and been "congratulated" for being with "a slew of derogatory and disgusting phrases directed towards my girlfriend." My girlfriend is vocal as hell and she yelled back that they were degenerate losers. My point if view on catcalling was that it should be ignored, after this incident however, I was ready to chase down the car, meet them at the next traffic light and beat the living shit out if the degenerate loser who just tried to make my significant other feel like an object. There is a slew of standard practice occurrences that men and women pass off until they are subjected to an instance where they finally realize how wrong they were. Feminism exists in order to try and push that mentality into the light, educate individuals tat there is a toxic culture that is brushed off asan exaggerated non-issue. The hypocrisy comes from point if views making judgements on others experiences, deeming them overreactions as they personally couldn't imagine perpetrating an occurrence. The issue here is that it happens ever.
Why I think what I have to say is worth reading: About a month after this incident walking with my girlfriend, I was sitting alone on set of stairs by a crosswalk. I am a 6' tall male and I'm healthy so I like to wear tank tops in the summer. A jeep filled with 4 women stopped at the crosswalk; one said "hey" to me, so I smiled and waved and looked back down at my phone, I was waiting for an uber to pick me up, thinking nothing if it. What I wasn't expecting, was the women to cheer and continue talking, I was told to hop In their car, throw them my tank etc. Along with being told what "we could all do to you." This time around I wasn't the same kind of, I want to rip out your stupid degenerate voice box angry. I was a sick kind if angry, that someone, after I smiled and waved the same way I would when I greet my neighbor walking her dog, people thought it was okay to say these things to me. After they drove off, I literally had no idea what I was supposed to do or how to even respond, at that point I was wondering how my S/O had managed to yell back at her cat callers because after an experience directed at me I felt like I just wanted to go inside and die a little bit. She knew how to respond because she's used to it. How dare someone get used to that occurrence. It's gross that you received points for a tactless counter argument and laughed at a girl trying to justify that the way she dressed should not be connected to the way she should expect to be treated
