Not really. I love Destiny, but it's a minimalistic story and just basic multiplayer in the Beta at best. Frankly, I'm not really a fan of Bungie after the mess of a story that was Halo 3 and just Halo Reach overall, I'm just waiting to see what happens in the full game of Destiny. And personally, the fact that an expansion is in development when the game hasn't even been released isn't helping. As if to say "Yeah, we're going to earn millions from it, there's no reason to believe that it isn't going to possibly be a money sink."
That's not to say I've felt that way before. After playing Dark Souls the first time, I had a hard time going back. But in the end, saying that a certain game is so good all others are crap is just a bit...narrow-minded, given how Dark Souls is mostly played for the challenge, and Mass Effect is played because of the character interaction, and Elder Scrolls and Fallout is for the exploration.

Everyone is ripping on them for the DLC already in works, but have you considered alternatives? Maybe they couldn't fit everything on the disc. I mean, it is a 40GB install.

Maybe fitting it on to multiple discs? If you get to a point where you need to go to Disc 2 or Disc 3 and you just get up and switch the discs and move on. Mass Effect does this just fine, ME2 had it so that the first third of the game and the Suicide Mission is on the first disc and the second third and all the loyalty missions are on the second disc.
