Me and a friend have been trying to pinpoint the traveler's location with the sparse geographical information we can glean from the panoramic pictures given of the Traveler. Judging from this picture, what I have circled is (we think) the boot of Italy. Due to the perspective of the shot, we believe the Traveler is located near Andorra. The coast to the left of the traveler is France, and following the coast would lead to the city of Marseille. We chose this location because previous shots of the Traveler (shown from the other direction as the one I have linked here) show mountains. For this to be geographically correct, the mountains in the background must be the Pyrenees which separate France and Spain. What do you guys think?
