Original concept art was by Thom Tenery, used with permission. I redrew one of Thom's sketches from the book Alien Race: Visual Development of an Intergalactic Adventure and used it as a reference for my sculpture. The reason I redrew it was to better understand the mouth of the creature. I took the reference image into ZBrush and began sculpting the 3D model from a Dynamesh Sphere.
